I was excited when Ryobi brought out the compact line; their tools have gotten far better, but some of them were a bit big and heavy compared to the other brands. These are light and compact, they feel great and fit where you need them to. But they are short on power. Being the same company as Milwaukee and Ridged, they have the technology to make these smaller motors with gobs of power, but they didn’t. I feel that they missed the bar in that respect. Having said, I really enjoy them as a “side arm” to carry and run screws with. But they don’t have the guts for heavy work.

I’ve only used a couple of times so far and I’m really impressed. Had to cut 1/4″ stainless cable for a fence fix project, with the cut off tool it was 15 seconds or less to go through. Prior to having the cut off tool I used a hack saw for the same cut and it took 5 minutes or more. Simple operation, cuts both directions, two led lights, plenty of power, compact… well thought out tool!

Small light weight. Cuts in both directions. Comes with 3 blades (metal, plastic, tile), wrench for blade change and 2 arbor sizes (7/16th, 3/8th adapter). Works really well. Multiple speed trigger. Does not bog down cutting through metal. My only issue is no place to store one of the arbor adapters. Would be easy to lose. Also has 2 lights on it.
