I wanted an edger. Got this trimmer system so that I could get the edger. Then I got the blower. Next up is the tiller. All are very time-saving compared to the corded trimmer and blower I used to use. It was frustrating at first because the line kept getting stuck. After going through the line that came installed in the trimmer and loading my own (which was way easier than my old one!), I have not run into that problem again.

I bought this a month ago to replace a 4 cycle ryobi powerhead that overheated and cracked the cylinder. The 2 cycle has as much power and it can be used with all of the expand it tools that I have.

I’ve only used this string trimmer once but so far I like it very much. After putting fresh gasoline/oil mixture in thetank, it started easily and ran very well. This is my first gasoline powered string trimmer because I usually don’t like2 cycle engines. I have a four year old Ryobi 40v straight shaft string trimmer and when the battery would not take acharge I was forced to either buy another battery which cost the same as this string trimmer if not more or get a 2 cycle trimmer.I elected to get this model hoping that the engine will last longer than the 40v battery. I have two 2 cycle chain sawsthat are over 9 years old so this is why I made this decision. By the way I recommend getting the neck strap attachment that is sold at Home Depot. It takes the stress off of my arm when I’m wacking weeds. The trimmer is not real heavy but when you have to wack down weeds for over an hour it can become heavy.

got this as a replacement for a different brand trimmer that i have attachments for. first off – the instructions were very easy to follow. that took all of 5 minutes. loaded it up with gas (mixed). started right up, and, off i went. no problems trimming my yard. while i haven’t tried the other attachments, they appear to be able to be used with this trimmer – so, i’m very happy.

This is my second Ryobi 2 cycle string trimmer. The first is about six years old and has performed great with absolute minimal maintenance. I even left it outside exposed to the elements for several months. Didn’t seem to affect it at all. I bought a new one to “retire” the first to lighter use. The attachments are well engineered to the head unit’s power. They all work as you would expect. I’m a fan. I have several Ryobi tools.
