Great trimmer and edger. I love the 2 in one feature. Lots of power and great run time. I owned the 24v unit for 12 years with out any issues until the motor finally gave in. I’m looking forward to 12 years or more with this new one.

it is not that bad for the price I paid since I had the battery. But I still not use to, I break a l lots of wires and Its hard for me to turn it 90 degree.

Has worked well. Enough battery life for all trimming I want to do at one time. Wheel for edging a pleasant surprise; makes lawn edging much easier. Rotating head works well for quick switching between trimming and edging. Given the weight of the trimmer, I need to work on the balance.

Does complete the job with one charge, the only thing is that is too bulky, heavy and unconfortable to cut edges.

The charger housing on mine had a rattle inside opened it up two of the screws that hold the circuit board down were not where they should have been. I took the other screws out move the circuit board over and found the plastic on the housing was was split open the screws had nothing to grab onto. I ended up drilling a hole and using small screw with a nut on it to hold the circuit board down.So if your charger rattles you better take it apart and see what’s in there you could end up with a little fire. The trimmer motor cover I had replaced two times because the plastic cracks and splits open at the screws. I own 13 different Ryobi products this is the biggest piece of crap I’ve had yet.

String blade is not my preferred system

Sturdy and hard working trimmer. Gets a bit heavy after a while, wish there was a roller to hold it up off the ground.

Lots of power, battery lasts a very long time as well.

I’d give it 4.5 stars if I could. It’s easy to use, the weight and balance are good and the battery lasts long enough for me to trim around my two small city lots. The only drawbacks are that I wish it was a couple inches longer so I didn’t have to stoop a tiny bit (I’m only 6′ tall which should be in the design range) and I wish batteries were cheaper (cost of one battery is almost the same as for the complete kit with trimmer and charger)

As a trimmer this worked well with enough power for grass and weeds. The feature I like is the swivel head that makes edging easier and more accurate. However, the swivel mechanism became clogged with dirt and debris and became difficult to change positions. I use the 6AH battery that came with the Ryobi mower and thats good for mowing the yard, trimming and edging everything with 25% charge remaining.

Overall, it works well, but has only been used once. Plenty of power, and the charge lasted to the end of the job. The string advance worked a bit more slowly that expected, and the overall weight is a little more than anticipated. It is roughly as heavy as a gas trimmer.

Works great. 30 minutes to a charge. We use .06 twisted line.

I am getting older and getting tired of pulling cords and mixing gas and working on small gas motors. I bought the Ryobi 40 volt lawn mower this summer to solve those problems and eliminate pulling an electric cord. All went well and decided after trying to get my gas trimmer to start that I would get the trimmer as well and swap the battery as needed. GREAT move. Both work really fine. The charged battery lasts a long time and provides plenty of power for both. I feel free and love to just push a button and get going on yard work. I gave the trimmer a 4 instead of a 5 only because for me it is a bit heaver than I expected and have not yet quite got the right balance down for ease of operation for a long time. Still way better than what I have used all these years. I recommended these tools to a friend all ready.

Very easy to use and versatile when edging or trimming. Only issue I had was with initial spool of string. It did not feed smoothly or evenly. I had same issue with my previous Ryobi trimmer when I used after market spools. Problem went away when I changed to a Ryobi spool.

This was purchased to replace the one that burned up. The original one lasted a few years. It did get a lot of use. Hopefully this one will last longer. Once you have invested in the batteries and other items that use the same batteries, it’s hard to change to another vendor.

The string feed doesn’t work very well. Usually have to manually do it .

This trimmer is very powerful and easy to use. I love the versatility and ease to convert it to an edger. I recently purchased a 40 volt mower and now I am hooked in the power and ease of use of the 40 volt line of products. My next purchases will be the blower and the chain saw.

overall, this is a good product.

Powerful. I now have the blower and trimmer. Both perfect for my property. Best thing is no more gas. One thing left is the mower.
