I really like this weed eater, however, customer service for Ryobi sucks! I have been waiting for a response to my need for a new battery while the weeds continue to grow. If I end up having to purchase something else, it will not be a ryobi. The device I got grime Home Depot in Bristol, Va was excellent 5 stars

Like I said–they work for you’re average and above average trimming needs–but not “heavy” trimming.I have four Ryobi 40-v tools, and share three batteries among them, they are all very good–The lawn mowerthe chain sawand the blowerbesides this– the weed trimmer.I have used the trimmer the most, and with three batteries in the mix–I’ve had enough work for me –when the batteries have had enough–on any of the tools. That said–Be aware that I’ve had motors burn out on two of the trimmers–smoke and everything. That’s why I’m ordering a third one.I think I got two seasons out of them each, so I am assuming they were out of warranty. I admit I didn’t check. But it is obviously not enough of a negative to keep me from getting a third. They are lighter, much quieter and way easier to start than a gasoline powered one.Especially after it has sat unused for a winter.

My husband LOVES this trimmer. Every week after he finishes the yard, he says he can’t get over how much easier trimming the lawn is now that he has this tool.

I finally upgraded from an older battery electric trimmer to this model, and I am VERY happy I did! The power output is much better and the battery life is truly remarkable. I have been able to trim my entire yard with one battery in about half the time as I could with the older trimmer which could not complete all my yard with two batteries.

I love this string trimmer! Very powerful, much better than my corded string trimmer. Charge on battery lasts a fair amount of time too, depending on what you are trimming.

I can trim and edge around my shrub beds after cutting my lawn and still have plenty of battery life left. With my prior trimmer, I used two 19 volt batteries to do same.

The working capacity was excellent it came in with a bad charger I call Ryobi to register unit and got a new charger in a few days service at ryobi was very excellent

I seem to get hit in the legs with debris more than the Black&Decker trimmer. Very lightweight but I expected the battery to last longer. On 1 charge, it couldn’t do the front and back yard.

The trimmer head does not rotate so very difficult to use as an edger. Fine as a trimmer only.
