Blowers are noisy. But this one seems to be much louder than my plug in blower of a different make. For me, ear protection isn’t just a suggestion, it is a necessity. I use it to blow dirt and grass off my mowers and out of my barn. It does the job, but is a bit weak when I try to do much leaf blowing.

I nailed this 40 volt off Ebay but come from tools direct one of Ryobi’s discounted factory outlets and I can honestly say I’m very Impressed I have the 18 volt 200 CFM 90mph and did an okay job for what I needed just happen to come across Tools direct and for 50 bucks new heck ya .I’m very impressed was gonna get the gas one like my neighbor has all the power needed if you need more guess I wish you luck pray for a tornado .only down side is 40 volt batteries ya little steep but look at the outlets like i did mine come with it all for 50 bucks and didn’t spend 150 plus .

Mainly bought unit for the battery. The box has two layers of sealing tape. The battery and charger have a large blue dot like mark near their serial numbers which do not look like they were from the manufacturer. The battery was only charged to the first light. Other Ryobi 40 volt products I have bought had a higher charge upon receiving them. Checked the unit out using a fully charged battery from my string trimmer. Unit seems to work well. Do not know if the battery and charger are new.

Really pleased with the power of the hedge trimmer and blower from Ryobi. I was very skeptical that a battery unit would blow stuff off my backyard putting green and last long enough where I’m using it on my neighbor’s driveway also. The trimmer I use on a couple hedges and puts my landscaper out of business with me:). The great thing about having both trimmer and blower is that if the battery dies on the blower I can use the same 40V from the trimmer as back up. So worth it to have both!!! Again if you are doubting the power on the Ryobi 40V blower …….don’t it’s Awesome!!!

Best my expectations! I wanted a cordless trimmer with a long cutter to get into those thorny type shrubs and this product hit all the marks! It is not any heavier then a corded trimmer, it’s easy to use and has a simple quick angle selector [big plus], it is powerful! It didn’t take long to fully charge the battery and I was able to trim my front yard shrubs [boxwoods, ligustrums, azaleas, and sego palms. Since I didn’t have to break out the extension cords, I usually connect two 30′ length cords together, I saved time; done in about 20 – 25 minutes. Too bad this thing doesn’t clean up all the cuttings; but the corded one didn’t either. This is a great purchase; only time will tell how long the battery’s life will last.

Since is power battery, it work for about an hour non stop on small hedges but kind of tender hedges. Work on dry condition only according of manual’s user. You have to clean the blades after use because become so sticky and build up. For small jobs its fine but for commercial use you need at least two extra batteriesto keep working while charging the other batteries.

Just purchased this trimmer and trimmed the bushes around my pool cage on a full charge only. The battery ran out right when I was finished the job “perfect timing”. The trimmer performed flawlessly from start to the end of the job! Probably about a total of 100’ of hedges I trimmed top and all four sides. The removable sweep feature worked great as well. The battery took around two hours to fully charge. I will probably buy a second battery when I catch them on sale because I have other bushes to trim if I want to do them all at once. I am very pleased with this product and by the way I am very picky about products and this one delivered. Previously I was using a gas hedge trimmer that worked great but heavy, bulky and noisy.

Excellent yard and garden tool. We purchased it primarily to cut down tall, dead rye grasses when raking our meadow area for the fall. This trimmer is very powerful and cut through the woody stalks with ease. Battery life seems great. If you do large projects and want the ability to trim continuously for hours at a stretch, it might be worth having a second 40-Volt lithium-ion battery available. Or buy a second Ryobi tool for other purposes but that uses an identical 40-Volt rechargeable battery. We have a powerful Ryobi cordless string trimmer for the lawn and a powerful Ryobi leaf blower. Those share the same battery type (larger than this cordless hedge cutter). But it’s great having two “mutually sharable” batteries for when we are edging the lawn and gardens or blowing leaves off of our roof and patio areas. Just a creative idea.
