Bought this coming from a gas powered mower. Was a little skeptical at first, but after full season of using it, I am really glad I made the purchase. I have about 1/4 acres yard, which I need 2 6ah batteries to cut. I get through a full battery and about a 1/3 of the second battery. Our grass usually grows thick and can get tall. This mower is powerful enough to keep going. Love the self propel feature as it moves the same pace you are walking. The push button start makes it easy to get going and is my wife’s favorite feature. It has a headlight, but I don’t see the use for it yet as I cut during the day. I like that you can use the self propel without the blade moving to help get it back into the garage. Folds up nice and flat and takes up no room in the garage. Steel frame is heavy and feels durable. Also, this thing is super quiet. Great product and I would recommend to anyone who is wanting to move into battery powered lawn equipment.

Works wet. Not sure of durability and am not yet used to the self propelled drive.

I wasn’t disappointed. It exceded my expectations.

Purchased 4 months ago in July. The mower cuts really well. The self propelled feature is activated when you push down on the handle. The harder you push, the faster it goes. I think I prefer the traditional switch but not a deal breaker. Everything seems really high end on this mower. One hand height adjustment. Metal blade housing. Seems really sturdy, time will tell. The mower would not start once when my wife was using it and after about 7 minutes of trying different things, it started again. Hopefully that was a one time thing. It’s been working well since then. Overall I’m pretty satisfied with the mower. It has not ran out of power cutting my front and back yard. I’m guessing that my front and back yards are about 650 square feet total.

Great mower at great price on sale

The battery did not last very long on one charge.

Battery life did not match what was claimed. Got 35-40 minutes of mowing time on a full charge mulching yard after 2 days growth. Handle is also longer and sits higher than my gas power Toro self pace mower. Unit does cut the grass nicely.

First battery last 1-1/2 yrs. second battery holding up. Tired of the auto shutoff button turning off the lawnmower when the handle moves. Jammed some paper between the handle and thd button to keep it running. Dissapointed there isnt a real fix for this subpar design.

The mower works as described.

the self propel feature is a bad design. I run into fence and bushes all the time. when you need to move a foot or two it runs into stuff. Having to push on the handle to propel is not good. Other than that its a good mower so far

This mower is great! I have a .21 acre yard and it will cut the entire yard with no signs of getting weak. I only use the self propel feature in the back yard, as the front is a little cut up due to driveway and landscaping.

Works fine

self propel is very powerful. very lightweight. cuts very evenly. not as agile as some mowers. does take a little getting used to but after a few uses it was more comfortable. recommend buying an extra battery as my lawn is not that big but i can only cut 3/4 of the lawn

It works great and so easy to start!

Very pleased so far. Have used about 7 times in the last month or two. I’m 79+ and have 3 yard areas totaling 12000 sq. ft. Ryobi is easy for me and my self described “couch potato” daughter to use. Easy to handle (not too heavy)Not too noisy and even has a quieter mode. I had to cut back on expense$ with weekly gardener service and this will pay for itself in a few months. I should have bought this years ago!

This is a great light weight mower. It’s not going to do well in those ”forgotten” spots like behind the garage, shed, side strip along the house, etc. In my opinion gas mowers are much better suited. This cutter does well with developing lawns, established lawns. This model cuts grass uniformly and does well with varying height settings, accurate. Just came in from collecting the leaves with this cutter. I’m very pleased with how well it picks up and cut the lawn. The bag filled twice and no need to recut/collect. Did I mention it began to rain? Wet leaves were no problem! I’m happy to report.Reading previous reviews I agree with most and have one to add. I ordered my cutter online. It came delivered to my home. (I’m a disabled person and this is the only method I can make large purchases.)Assembled everything the following day as the battery needed time to charge. First time I tried to start the cutter nothing happened. Rechecked everything. The battery would not charge. It was defective.Rather than rebox and reship I brought the battery to my Home Depot. Worked with customer service and they exchanged the battery. They gave me a 40v 2a battery. This model is supposed to have a 40v 6a battery. I didn’t receive one and didn’t understand the difference. Believe me when I write you need to be CERTAIN YOU RECEIVE THE PROPER BATTERY!The second attempt took almost as much time to start as the first. Frustrated after re-reading the limited instructions, a new form of hieroglyphics, we’re effectively worthless.Ready to re-box and bid farewell I decided to look at the reviews for this cutter. Within three or four reviews a common issue presented; the locks on the bars must be secured. This is done by unlocking the bar by loosening the bright green levers. They are on both sides and following upward from the engine to see a crossbar. Pull that upward and lock the bright green levers. Now, with the battery charged and inserted, the main crossbar secured. Pull up on the left handle and press the start button. Voila! The quiet cutter is ready for lawn duty! The need to secure the main bar may be a safety feature. That’s a great idea! Inform the owner of this! That would lead to less complications.Cut beautifully for about 25 minutes on the 2a 40v that came with. I don’t know what the the time is on the 40v 6a as I didn’t receive that battery.Last negative, there isn’t a mulching blade included nor available. Lower your expectations relative to mulching your lawn with its own clippings.Short review; recommend, does a nice job for a city or suburban lot. Quiet and has power to suck up clippings even wet ones, easy to maneuver, cuts evenly and doesn’t slow in thicker lawn areas. The cons; Make sure you receive the proper battery, check the main crossbar and re-tighten the green levers after you pull up, toward you, doesn’t mulch, directions are of little use.I believe Ryobi has a generally reliable cutter in this model. It’s not perfect and I hope the instructions will be retooled,(Ryobi are you reading this?), misleading customers by identifying this as a mulching cutter. It isn’t.I still am happy with my purchase and would recommend this cutter.

I’ve used the mover 3 times and have had no issues. Also, I was able to cut the grass twice on a single charge on a 10K sf lot. Besides having the battery and key installed you have to remember to have the bag or mulch installed and handled fully extended and locked to turn on.

Immediately had to sharpen the blades.I live on a .2 acre lot with about 3/4th of that being grass. One 6Ah battery will get the lawn done if I do a single pass, however there will be stragglers. The bag and bagging port are poorly designed; expect a mess if bagging. Mower is quiet light and low maintenance(the reason I assume everyone is looking for an electric mower).

Works better than expected, lots of safety features which is great.. When fill like going quick it will & slower when I fill the same way.

I have used it about 4 or 5 times so far. Nice and quiet. Light. Mows OK except for an annoying habit of cutting out ever minute or so. Also inserting and removing the mulching plug is extremely difficult. Any grass packed around the unit makes it almost impossible to remove. The claims that I saw stating that it will mow 1/2 acre is surely aspirational because I have never got anywhere near that. On balance I still like it for the quiet operation.
