This self-propelled mower features SMART TREK technology that adapts to the user’s walking speed and has rear wheel drive for increased traction when mowing your yard. The brushless motor delivers gas-like power combined with load sensing technology that detects and delivers the power needed to maintain an optimal cutting speed, resulting in maximum power and run time. Featuring a 21 in. durable steel deck, this mower was redesigned with a 7-position single-point height adjustment (ranging from 1-1/2 in. – 4 in.) that allows you to select your mowing height with one single motion. Choose which mowing option is best for you with the 2-in-1 mulching or bagging capability, or the side discharge accessory sold online. When the job is done, simply remove the Easy-Lift Single-Motion lock and release bagger to empty your grass and place back down to easily lock it back into place. The collapsible step-to-release handles offer a variety of storage options for compact spaces. The 6.0 Ah 40-Volt Lithium Ion high capacity battery offers extended run time, and is compatible with all RYOBI 40-Volt tools. Backed by a 5-year warranty.

I bought my first electric mower. I have used my mower for about a month and it has been great. I enjoy the quietness of it while I’m cutting the grass. It powers through my yard with ease. I have a 1/4 acre and I usually have a little battery left when I’m done. I wouldn’t recommend it if your yard is bigger unless you buy two batteries. It fold up for easy storage.

I purchased this mover a month ago and have used it four times. I like not having to mess with gasoline, exhaust fumes and the noise of the motor. I did have to buy a second battery as one would not do my lawn. Two just barely does the complete lawn. The self propelled action is a little jerky. Overall I like electric much better than gas powered.

Once I got the mower started, it worked fine, though my next challenge is to figure out how to raise the cutting height. It took a whole afternoon reading the Q & A s on the Home Depot website to get the mower started. The answer was simple, but not intuitive.

I would have given a 5 star but I have encountered a problem. The mower will only run when the battery is in the left battery holder. If I insert into the right side, mower will not run. Mower has many excellent features which I like – like single handle wheel adjustment, and a light.

The power seems ok and it does a decent job mulching. You absolutely need to purchase another battery if you get this. I already had another battery from another tool. It shuts off if I’m going through too many leaves or thick grass. I like it because it saves me from having to get gas as I live in the country.

Only used twice so far, a little awkward on the turns until you get used to it. I like the powered feature without the blades turning to drive it back to the shed. Very quiet, I ordered an extra battery because my yard takes more than 35 minutes to cut which seems to be the life of the battery charge. I like not having to mess with gas cans. I look forward to no more oil and spark plug changes. I recommend this mower.

Pleasantly surprised. The Ryobi 21 inch brushless smart trek self-propelled mower is strictly a must have. It is so nice to do away with the noise and gas fumes when it comes to a traditional lawnmower. Just charge your battery the night before, drop it in and put in the key in and away it goes. It’s so nice and light you really don’t need the self-propelled option but I went with it anyway because I’m getting old. And the headlight on the front is really nice for those evening lawn mowing expeditions.It is so quiet you can even mow early in the morning when you know your neighbors are still sleeping. Read the directions well both in the booklet and the stickers that are on the lawnmower. You need to have the handle completely extended and locked before it will start.

Goes through batteries. I use 3-4 batteries per mow. My yard is a little bigger than average. It is quiet, and self propel works well. LED light on all the time is useless unless you mow in the dark. Would be nice if there were a way to turn off and on to save some more juice for the mower itself.

originally had a corded mower to avoid a gas mower. Cord was a horrible nuisance and I even ran over it several times and had to purchase a new one each time. Thought I’d try this as I have a ryobi battery trimmer. Works great, easy to use. Plus ryobi is the only company that includes the charger and battery!
