This product provides the power for big scale weed whacking that every otherelectric weed whacker I have owned did not. They usually burned out aftera few weeks of use. This product, while heavy duty, really does the job and is really easy to re-string. My wife uses it too, and has nothing but good commentsconcerning it. We did buy a good harness with which to use the product, and Irecommend others do the same.

Had the older model for many years for hedge trimming work, it finally gave out. Got this new model along with the Add-On 22 in. Articulating Hedge Trimmer Attachment and an Extension Pole. Together I can reach the tallest bushes in my yard without having to get on a ladder. The weight of the unit is comparable to my 2 stroke gas Troy-Bilt model, and provides more power that the earlier electric model – the trimmer cut through tough vines and thicker branches just as well as when using the gas model. Much quieter so I can do yard work w/o bothering any neighbors, or inhaling those wonderful oiled up carbon monox fumes – bleah.Be sure to get the big 12/3 15 amp power cord and of course, be mindful of where the cord is at all times – don’t be a fool and cut that cord. Even if you do, the handles and grip on the unit will prevent the current from coming back up and into contact with you. You’ll be amazed at how 15 amps will weld the copper conductors inside the power cord together, after a bright spark and that bzzzt sound that wakes you right up. Just splice the cord back together with the big yellow electrical crimps over in the electrical department and tape it over up with the black vinyl tape. Pick up a small flat file from tools in order to file the spot welded parts of the trimmer blade flat again and you’re back in business. Yep that’s from personal experience :-).I got about 20 years out of the old Ryobi model, so we will see how far this one goes. It spins up that trimmer blade quickly and gave me no surprises. Be sure to get a bottle of 3-in-1 oil and dribble it into the blade edge while the trimmer is orientated vertically before each use. Getting the oil into the spaces where the movable blade slides in and out will lengthen it’s lifespan considerably. Kind of like how K-Y Jelly makes everything better for the other tool if you catch my drift.Regards, SpecialK

This weedeater had power. Rivaled any gas weedwhacker I had owned in past. I am so pleased I am going to purchase the attachments. It definitely will have the power to run any of them. Only thing that took getting used to was the stiff trigger. Also a shoulder strap would have been nice since it is fairly heavy.

Excellent buy, does a great job, best rated on Consumer Reports and now I know why

A little heavy,But lots of power

The on/off switch feels like it might fail and that is after 4 uses. A bit heavy, but it will chew through some thick stuff

Yes I love it. For me it’s a must have

Works as advertised, easy to rethread.

Very powerful and great value for the price. Blasts through grass as well or better than a gas-powered weed wacker. The blower works great too. Both are easy to handle.

I am a lover of yard work and needed a new trimmer. I am very physical and strong for 68 yrs. old and the trimmer got good reviews. I usually buy electric because it is lighter weight. That is not the case for this trimmer. It is HEAVY! for electric, but I liked the long shaft, I am tall, and thought it to be very efficient. So I am making a harness to wear with it to lighten the load. I am happy with it’s performance twice.

Good trimmer and blower for the price that I paid.

I need the power and long operating time of a gas trimmer in an electric model. This one meets that need, even with the .80 string. I suggest also buying a shoulder strap if you’ll be using it for extended periods. So far the only drawback that I see for this model is the design of the safety shield. Safety glasses are absolutely mandatory! Even when cutting in the right direction, it can throw debris at your face and if you cut in the wrong direction it’s far worse. With a better shield design I would give it 5 stars.

Gets the job done. The interchangeable heads from my gas powered weed eater work well on this unit. This improves the versatility of the purchase

I regret buying the electric one. I should have bought a battery operated one. But it’s good.

The only problem i had with the machine was the fact that it wouldnt cut the extra line or take out line when it was short.

Powerful and gets the job done. But, there is the constant worry that i will be hit with a flying stone or some debris. I have been hit several times, the protective base does not do it’s job properly. A design floor.

After having owned several black and decker trimmers, this thing is awesome. I’m 6’1″ and this thing is a lot easier to handle for a person of my height. I also like that the motor is not at the base where it can get gunked up with dead grass. Lots of power to this thing!

I have only used it once so far, but it did a great job. The shield did not allow it to get close enough to the ground to cut weeds over a concrete patio, so I’ll have to get the edger attachment, which I was glad to see can be used with the weed whacker. It was relatively lightweight and well-balanced.

Good product. Cuts very well.

Works great. If it was few lbs lighter I’d have given stars.
