It has a lot more power than I expected and works great for me

This trimmer was recommended by Consumer Report, it has totally met my expectations. Easy to use and gets the job done. Not as heavy as compared to gas trimmers. I like the fact that it is electric, I got tired of previous battery operated trimmers that run out of juice before you can get the job done. This trimmer is definitely a keeper!!

A little heavy but has a lot of power

Had owned one before so I knew easy it was to use. Has plenty power trimming and edging.
Tate Bosco (verified owner) –
Works much better than my old one. Has a wider cutting path and the cord is stronger and breaks less. Much easier to weed whack the sides of my looooong driveway.

I haven’t used it that much yet, but so far I like it. It’s powerful, which probably adds a lb. or two, but has good balance. I’ll probably try to buy a replacement head for it because I can see it getting abused a lot over rocky ground. The only other thing I wish it had is an actual variable speed control like some of the battery powered weed wackers have. I like those for going along fence lines and where I might damage plants and trees I want to keep.

Very powerful. Will never use my gas weed wacker again.

I was very impressed by the power of the string trimmer and the ease of use and assembly. So impressed that I’ve already purchased two Additional attachments: the articulated hedge trimmer and the brush hog. All work well.
Damaris Bergnaum (verified owner) –
Plenty of power just what I needed it’s great
Helen Schmitt (verified owner) –
Has a lot of power. It is heavier than any trimmer I’ve ever owned. The bump-head string release is a pain to deal with. It cuts like crazy when everything is working right.
Emmanuelle Eichmann (verified owner) –
very easy to load the string.
Jarret Harris (verified owner) –
Works great, has plenty of power.
Aylin Renner (verified owner) –
Works Great and I can use all of my existing attachments.

TLDR – Absolutely USELESS instruction manual, product good for the price.I’m a first time lawncare average joe and so most of this may be inexperience, but I found the instruction manual to be complete garbage. Just a series of thumbnail sized pictures crammed onto a single page front and back. If you don’t already know how to use one of these things, good luck! I just completed my first job with the entire unit 180 degrees backwards so I had to hold the trigger down with my THUMB which was EXTREMELY tiring / painful. (Try giving a thumbs up with one hand and squeezing with your other as hard as you can for one minute. Now open your fingers slowly. That’s what it feels like.) Afterwards I was like this *CAN’T* be right. Turns out, the pole that contains the actual edger / string has a metal bearing that pops up to keep the two parts in place. I snapped the two poles together and it was secure. But, you can also rotate it 180 degrees and it will snap in just as securely! THIS is the correct orientation. Comparing the assembled product to the picture on the box, it looks almost identical! So, in retrospect a dumb mistake, but I had nothing to go on but the very same picture you see in this product webpage on the box.For the handle, the “manual” mentions a washer and a wingnut. I don’t even have a washer. Just a bolt, a regular nut, and a wingnut. So, looks like it’s “figure it out” time again. There’s a slot IN the wingnut to put the bolt, that is the trick. Otherwise, the wingnut does not screw onto the nut – there is not enough room. There are, of course, no instructions on how to use the “bump” feature to extend the string. I guess, you are supposed to do it while it is OFF? That was my intuition. Apparently, actually you are supposed to do this while it is ON? OK. Thanks YouTube. Also have fun googling how to re-string the unit, since again – the instructions sure won’t help.None of this is rocket science, but it’s annoying that you need to spend your free time Googling and YouTubing how-to’s.As far as packaging goes, I also suspect this was NOT a new product as the box was torn and re-taped, and the packaging inside was also ripped in the cardboard holding the trimmer in.So as for the product itself…frustration aside, I think the product seems like it will work well. I can’t compare power to other models, but it seems like it has enough! I like that it will never run low on batteries and I won’t have to deal with gas.Summary – *might* be a great unit and the price sure is right. Instructions could not be worse if they tried.

Happy so far. It is rather heavy, so I used a luggage strap over my shoulder, made it much easier to use and less strain on my fore arms. I bought corded versus battery pack, so power stays constant, and we had a lot of tall grass, weeds, etc., to cut down.
