Am involved in cub scouts, so purchased this with Pinewood derby cars in mind. Gets the job done, but a little effort needs to be put into cutting versus other models I’ve seen used. The only true frustration I had is that the replacement blade that came in the box, was the wrong blade. ☹️

Great scroll saw. Powers through 3/4 inch pine and cedar. 3/4 inch Oak must be cut slower but it’s possible. Anything thicker than 1 inch I imagine would be very tough to cut if it is a hardwood. I havenot broke a blade yet and I have used this machine for several hours. Arrived pretty much ready to go

This is my first scroll saw and it seems to work great. However, there is a spacer missing from the bolt on the motor shaft which prevents the bolt from being tightened. I discover this when the arm fell off the motor shaft. If you tightened the bolt completely then the shaft would not turn. I contacted Ryobi and asked for the part. Rather than ship it to me, they told me to take it to a Service Center where they really don’t service anything just send it back to Ryobi. I have manufactured a piece that seems to fix the problem but I have to decide if that fix is good enough or whether to drive 40 miles out of my way to wait how long? to get the saw back. Ryobi was quick to respond to my emails but not impressed with the response.
