The trimmer works great. I would have given a perfect score except it shipped with the wrong guard. We purchased a replacement from Riobi otherwise we would have had to return the trimmer and reorder another one.

my first reconditioned purchase and I am really pleased…except for packaging I bet you would have a hard time picking this one out next to a new one as a recon…always a Ryobi fan so no problem there and it started right up and went to work..got to get used to the reload feature but you can put on new line the old fashioned way if needed…in 25 years I have only had one Ryobi product not up to par out of the box and Ryobi customer service was there when I needed them…I definitely recommend Ryobi whether new, or now even it is a reconditioned…I think they are the best product in the price range

I thought going the old-school gas-powered way was the best; no need to charge batteries, power; how can I lose? Upon receipt of the trimmer, it worked for a solid 20 minutes. Then when I took it out front, the trimmer wouldn’t start. I figured the engine might’ve flooded when I placed it on the ground, and stored it right-side up for a week. Next week, same issue – and now the week after that, the thing sputters and then goes out. On top of it requiring oil, fuel, and is heavy as heck – I returned it and got an electric trimmer instead. Couldn’t be happier with my choice!
