there is no shoulder strap coming with the product. Therefore the only way to use this heavy machine is to hold it.

My reconditioned blower came in a plain cardboard box without any packing material; just the unit, tube & user manual loose in the box. The bottom of the fuel tank had a few light scuffs but everything else (air filter, carburetor, muffler) looked brand new. The bottom of the unit was branded with “RECON”. There was a very slight smell of fuel in the empty tank. And to definitively answer the “Is there a strap included?” question, as of Aug 2020 the answer is NO. The owner’s manual does mention a free strap can be requested by calling the 800 customer service number. The starting procedure is no different than any other 2-cycle engine (prime, choke, pull, half-choke, pull, run) and mine started up without issue. The anti-vibe handle is fairly effective at reducing vibration and I can see how some may think the handle is loose or broken. It is a bit heavier than other hand held gas blowers but really not an issue. As far as power goes, I was expecting a hurricane in a bottle, based on some the reviews here. It is only slightly more powerful than the 10 year old Poulan Pro it replaced. Press the trigger fully and it’ll take 2-3 seconds for it to come to full throttle however, and it kinda winds down when you let off the trigger. Not really a problem, just unlike other 2-cycle string trimmers/blowers, etc. I think it’s louder than average, with an annoying high pitched whine if you are directly behind it (at full throttle). When held beside you as in normal use, you won’t notice it as much. So nothing about this blower is game changing nor deal breaking. It’s about the lowest priced “brand name” gas blower out there (even when new at $120) and it does what it’s supposed to do. Buying a reconditioned unit will save you $30 for a like new blower, and you lose the 2-cycle oil, two years of warranty and some packing material. I’ve only used it twice so far, and so far so good. The only unknown is reliability and durability, but I think that’s more a Ryobi question rather than a new/recon question.

My husband loves it!

Blower works fine, pretty much looks like new. I only gave it three stars because HD/Ryobi took the cheap road by not including the strap and starter oil mix.

I just used it a few times but it seems to do very good

I’ve owned various Ryobi tools over the years and I have never been disappointed. I had also replaced a Ryobi gas powered weed trimmer that had “died” after many years and replaced it with a reconditioned one and have not been disappointed. It started right out of the box and is currently in use today. This “new” reconditioned blower is the same. I fueled it the day it arrived and used it. The speed and volume of air moves dirt, debris and leafs is remarkable. Clean-up is very fast and it gets under cars, steps, etc. What I like is its very portable. For now I am retiring my electric cord Toro leafblower/vacuum and will probably use it exclusively as a vacuum for leafs because it mulches.

The blower kicked butt. It would move anything out of the way. The reason for the 4 star was it had a small gas leak which cause it to lose pressure which caused it to not run right. I brought it back and bought the same model new. Return was easy, I just brought it back to a store.
