This trimmer has an unusual amount of power, the battery charges quickly. I was really pleased with it. However, after using the edge trimmer feature only about 5 times, the metal on the head cracked. Seems it doesn’t do well going back and forth between trimmer and edger. Great if you don’t want to use the edger.

I bought this a month ago to replace one from another store as it’s battery was dead and not replaceable. I’ve had a ryobi lawnmower for 3 years without battery issues so I thought I’d give this weed eater a try. This one is so powerful, battery holds a charge for 5+ uses. The plastic wire gets eaten up quick if you touch walkways or driveways. I wish there was some type of half power setting because of that. This might not be good for anyone who doesn’t like a more weighty one so check the weight before buying. In all it’s powerful, cuts an edge and the battery hold a charge through multiple cuttings.

I had used the 18V for the last couple years and love it but with the lack of run time I wanted to get something else. I purchased and so far am very happy with this. The only drawback is the weight. You get used to it but it is something to consider. I am very happy with it though. Love the foot press feature to turn it into an edger.

I could not believe that she was cutting her grass with the lawnmower, trimming weed eater, and edging her grass with the battery. And there was proof that tools with this kind of battery with the Roby can actually work. So I bit the bullet and I bought a weedeater with an edger I could not believe how good it is 40 V has so much power is worth every dime. I bought this after I could no longer get my gas 4-cycle trimmer to work. It’s nice not having to use gas and check the oil and wonder if the trimmer would work. It was not that old either, now I just press a button and it starts. No more frustration and works almost as good as my gas one. I was able to use just on string (wire) trimmer for half the summer and counting.

Just did the trim with the Ryobi 40 v . Much more powerful than Black and Decker.Did have some trouble with the spool and feed. String kept getting stuck in the spool.
