Time will tell if this is worth the discount. I probably would not have bought this knowing the most valuable part of the product is reconditioned.

Worked better than expected

Not quite. I was expecting a little more power to push and not have to use the turbo which depletes the battery

I have many other Ryobi 40v products and love them but the Reconditioned backpack blower doesn’t seem to spool up nearly as quick as the hand held blower from Ryobi I have used. May return for a handheld. Also prefer more flexibility in the nozzle tube to control the air and debris while blowing in and around corners of garages, around pools, etc. This nozzle tube isn’t as elastic as I would prefer. Still a good product and blows well with turbo mode.

Works well, but eats through the battery really quickly.

It has decent power, but battery life is not great.

This tool more than satisfies my needs. I had been having trouble finding a cordless blower that provides the power I need. The two battery pack capacity greatly increases the runtime when equipped with both. Other similar blowers simply could not offer the same combination of power and runtime at this good of a price. I’m very happy with my purchase!

The battery life was just not good enough even with 2 batteries. Needed something that can last for 2 to 3 hours. Power was ok but kept having to push the 2 min turbo.

I had the handheld blower and was impressed with how well it worked. I decided to give the backpack version a try. I’ve seen complaints about the run time. My front yard is about 1800 sf and I have 2 5 mah batteries installed. I can get it done on one charge with moderate use of turbo mode. My leaves have not been heavy yet and I have been staying on top of things. The battery charge time with what amounts to a trickle charger was very slow. I upgraded to the rapid charger and it feels like it take a little over an hour to go from 1 green light to full charge. It seems to be quieter than my handheld version perhaps because it is behind me, but it seems very quiet. It is light enough that I can use it until the batteries die without it being uncomfortable.A perfect compliment to my Ryobi yard care system. 20” Mower, String Trimmer, Pole Saw, handheld leafblower.I bought a reconditioned unit. I was horrified when it arrived in a giant cardboard box with no padding or care! Everything was there and it has worked fine. I received what appears to be a bran new battery and the charger was stamped RECON on the bottom….My wish list a slightly longer tube (I’m 6-2) and it would be nice if the end of the tube was flexible so that I could aim it across the top of the grass and not down on top of the leaves.

The blower has good power on the turbo setting only, but running it this setting drains a fully charged 5ah battery in less than a half hour. If you have a lot of work to do you will need multiple batteries and a fast charger.

First, this was delivered amazingly fast. It was actually delivered to my house before the HD site showed it as shipping.BEWARE!!! Although this offer listed the 5Ah battery at least 5 places, what came in the box was a 2.6 Ah battery. I took the whole kit to the local HD store and they took care of it, but there was a mixup somewhere in the system. This is different from most other blowers on the market. Ryobi uses a very large fan, That moves a lot of air, but very quietly. And it takes 5 seconds to get up to full speed. The upshot is that it SEEMS to not be blowing very hard when it actually is.With the turbo button on, it really is almost as powerful as a basic consumer-grade gas-powered backpack blower. But the turbo mode can run only 2 minutes. I assume Ryobi is concerned about overheating the battery, the motor, or both. Therefore, most of your time will be spent on the highest non-turbo setting. A 2.6 Ah battery is rather unsatisfying in this mode, as that is only good for about 10 minutes. You really do need a 4, 5, or 6 Ah battery — actually two. If you plug in two 5 Ah batteries, I think you could run on the high non-turbo speed for a good 30-40 minutes. The lower setting is very good for clearing out flower beds without blowing the mulch away. I am still keeping my gas-powered Stihl blower for the heavy clean-up in the fall, but I expect I’ll use this Ryobi backpack most of the time.

wish batter lasted longer and was more comfortable to wear

nice that i am not tethered with an extension cord but does not have the same power as the electric blower I have. It is nice to be able to get a further reach but heavy product does not move as well. The battery seams to go quickly.

Not bad for a refurb, great price.
