I own two of these docks. I cannot read and write a WD 4T and 6T Black HD that was initialized, Partitioned and formatted on a desktop computer’s internal SATA III port rending this dock almost useless. If these 4T and 6T HD(s) were initialized, Partitioned and format in the dock they can’t be read by the internal port in a desktop. The hardware and or firmware is surly out of date. If you have a 1T HD that works don’t think larger HD will work properly, they won’t.

Took apart an old computer, bought this to access the hard drive. Plugged it in and it worked just like any other jump drive or external hard drive. I was able to extract files I hadn’t even remembered were on the drive. If you have an old drive with the right connectors, this is a great item to have. Once you place the drive in the box, you have a ‘new’ external hard drive to use for file storage.

If you love PCs you probably have more than a few HDDs and SSDs lying around. This docking station work wonderfully in formatting the disks or using them as needed. Well worth the price

It worked as described

Excellent

Fast delivery, and it is working fine. When disk is ejected the power turns off automatically, which I like.

I bought this mostly to take an internal drive on my old computer and use this exact drive as an external drive on my new computer. Works well, haven’t had any problems.

This horizontal docking station is easy to use and is a better design than the units where the drive is mounted vertically. I’ve had two other vertical docking stations and they both quit working after light use.
