With a 1500R curvature, the C34J791 34″ 21:9 Curved FreeSync VA Monitor from Samsung offers a viewing experience that envelops the viewer in their multimedia content. Flicker-free technology, AMD FreeSync support, Game Mode, and Eye Saver Mode all help to provide a healthy and enjoyable time whether you’re writing up a report, playing games, or simply kicking back and watching a movie.
This Samsung monitor features a 3440 x 1440 resolution, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, a 300 cd/m² brightness rating, a 100 Hz refresh rate, a 4 ms response time, and support for up to 16.7 million colors all designed to provide a crisp, clear picture with reduced ghosting and blur. Additionally, the C34J791 display offers 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles along with the ability to tilt the display or mount it to the wall for more comfortable viewing. Setup is simple as this monitor comes equipped with DisplayPort, HDMI, and Thunderbolt 3 inputs as well as a built-in USB 3.0 hub to connect USB compatible peripherals directly to the display. For mounting this monitor to a wall, there is a 100 x 100mm VESA mount.

The stand comes off, but leaves behind bit that sticks out about 2 inches from the back of the screen that doesn’t – responsible for the tilting of the monitor itself. Toyed with sawing it off but means the original stand is completely useless if I need to unmount for any reason. Doesn’t fit any VESA wall mounts, can’t find ANY solution online.

I moved from a Samsung 34″ Ultrawide flat screen to this as I wanted to experience the curved effect and also to use the 2x Thunderbolt 3 connections to connect two Macs to it. The price upgrade was significant. Very very disappointed to find out that you can’t use both T3 ports for display inputs. Why not? Surely that is the point? This also means that I cannot connect two Macs and benefit from the USB Hub on both. It’s a partially finished product and none of this is explained the website or in the misleading marketing messages.

The monitor is very great for my eyes when I’m gaming. I would just love improved pixels to happen. I have been on my TV for a good while which is probably why I have somewhat of an issue with this, since theres a difference. However the product is still great and I’d high recommend buying it. I love the white color and the silver base, a great combination truly. Also a remote would have been great to add with the monitor, sometimes reaching in the back can be annoying.

I’ve been using this monitor for a year now and I love it. Using a 34in mo it or that is curved helps immerse yourself on to the web. There’s no glare and bezels are thin. I also have gotten a lot of compliments on my monitor for it’s design. It can be vesa mounted and the sound is also decent. Only minor problems I have with it is that there are some light leaks on the side where the monitor isn’t properly glued down and that the chrome looking parts on the photo are plastic and can be scratched easily.

The monitor arrived with the Thunderbolt (USB-C) port not working. The monitor was not recognized by my laptop at all, and only occasionally delivered power. It’s on the way to Samsung for warranty repairs currently, hopefully the issue is addressed quickly. This seems like a pretty obvious issue that should have been caught by by quality control though, clearly these aren’t tested by Samsung before packaging.
