With a 1500R curvature, the C34J791 34″ 21:9 Curved FreeSync VA Monitor from Samsung offers a viewing experience that envelops the viewer in their multimedia content. Flicker-free technology, AMD FreeSync support, Game Mode, and Eye Saver Mode all help to provide a healthy and enjoyable time whether you’re writing up a report, playing games, or simply kicking back and watching a movie.
This Samsung monitor features a 3440 x 1440 resolution, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, a 300 cd/m² brightness rating, a 100 Hz refresh rate, a 4 ms response time, and support for up to 16.7 million colors all designed to provide a crisp, clear picture with reduced ghosting and blur. Additionally, the C34J791 display offers 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles along with the ability to tilt the display or mount it to the wall for more comfortable viewing. Setup is simple as this monitor comes equipped with DisplayPort, HDMI, and Thunderbolt 3 inputs as well as a built-in USB 3.0 hub to connect USB compatible peripherals directly to the display. For mounting this monitor to a wall, there is a 100 x 100mm VESA mount.

Product arrival was timely. Easy set up. The monitor lacks the clarity of the 4 year old 27 it replaced. If you have room for two on your desk then I would stick with that setup as you can get a lot more screen for your money. If you are going to go with one curved of this size your are going to have to spend a lot more money for the clarity we now expect.

Really enjoying my new monitor as I have 4 computers hooked up to it. The Thunderbolt port is extra nice as I had trouble with my Mac Mini using the HDMI port, problem solved as the other computers use the Display Port and the two HDMI’s with out a problem.

The stand is beautifully engineered and provides both height and tilt adjustments, plus if you want to wall mount it you can use the VESA mounting kit included in the box. You might want to do that, as well, since in addition to its wide, 21:9 aspect ratio it’s a jolly big screen, measuring a substantial 34in across the diagonal; Samsung also introduces a dramatic 1500R curvature here, the idea being to provide a more immersive viewing experience than a flat monitor.

Made my decision almost entirely based on the brand loyalty. Bought this CJ791 from nationwide retailer. It came in the CJ791 box. Manufacturer’s label reads CJ791. Except it is CF791, based on both ports and what says inside the “menu=information”. Manufacturer’s label shows no signs of manipulation. Had a great time returning it in. And you complain about a dead pixel. Quality, huh?

This is what I consider the “middle ground” for those wanting a sub-4K resolution but decent refresh and response rate for gaming. Unfortunately, the resolution just doesn’t quite meet my expectations and this becomes immediately apparent when dragging content from the retina (MacBook Pro) display over to the CJ791; the text is pixilated. My experience with the monitor ended up straining my eyes.

I use this monitor for work and my girlfriend uses it for school. I orginally bought it for her school, she was hesitant i said im getting it. She loves it and loves using it on a daily basis. I wish it was easier to connect with another monitor with out some port connector needed. Its been amazing using it to work as i said would love to get another display like this one. But for a single display it opens up multiple tabs and looks like 2 14″ momitors. The use of the usb ports in the back makes it feel like its own laptop. Plug anything into it and the computer reads it as if its part of it. I gave it 4 stars because i feel that it could be better connectivity with 2 monitors without needing a port connector. But im happy makes wish i bought a bigger one

I love the monitor curved with angle. I can clearly from 15ft away. Curved angle view feel like words are more clear and closer to eyes without pain. This monitor makes my gaming experience more enjoyable and more comfortable.

This should be a great monitor, however I am requesting a 2nd exchange. My first monitor developed a stuck blue pixel on a black screen near the centre of the display. The 2nd I received had 5 black dead pixels around the screen. This monitor would serve me well but for the cost its the only screens I’ve seen in the last 10 years that have these kinds of faults. I use it between my MacBook Pro, Work PC Laptop and my Gaming Desktop. All three can be connected at once, and the USB-C is very convenient as it means that one cable can plug into either laptop, and they’re getting charged and automatically connected to the keyboard and mouse. So much space for multitasking. Cable management is also very good Really do hope my 3rd monitor lives up to expectations. This would be my perfect monitor if it were not for the defective pixels.

Beautiful. This monitor is absolutely beautiful. From the moment you unpack it till you finish using it for the day, this is just a gorgeous piece of equipment. Positives: – Amazing to look at… even when off – No eye strain, even after a 10 hours of constant use – Great connection options – Fast refresh times – Excellent resolution – Curved Negatives: – Back cover for cord management is flimsy – Expensive This monitor replaced two IPS 19” monitors. When using those, I had noticed that I could not sit in front of them for a long time; but with this Samsung monitor, I can spend an inordinate amount of time without any eye strain or feeling uncomfortable. While a curved TV seems like a gimmick, using a curved monitor is absolutely amazing. You sit close enough in front of the monitor that having a curved screen actually seems to “envelop” your view. The colors are comparable to the older IPS monitors, but the single wide screen monitor really makes everything immersive as there is no “break” in content. The biggest negative that I could find is the price. This is an expensive product, no way around it. The other minor quibble is that in order to “hide” the power and connection cord in the back of the monitor, the back plastic plate is really flimsy and can easily fall out as there isn’t a locking / snapping mechanism. Fortunately, once set, this becomes a moot point. I recommend this for anyone looking for a top of the line monitor.

I’ve been using this monitor for a month now and continue to be blown away by it. At 34″ wide, this monitor dominates any workspace and people have tonnes of questions about it. It’s a great looking thing. Once powered up, the image quality is extremely impressive. The image is sharp, the contrast is great, and for those gaming the responsiveness is very good too. Personally I mostly use this monitor to code on, and having such a large amount of screen real estate is hugely useful. I can have all of my windows open on the same desktop rather than managing multiple screens or switching workspaces, which I found boosted my productivity a fair bit. Initially I found the slight curvature of the screen took a little getting used to when working on text, but after a while you don’t notice it anymore. I’d suggest sitting a little closer if this bothers you. For video however, the display is immediately an incredibly immersive experience. 21:9 content on YouTube such as film trailers look stunning, and it’s a big step up from my HD TV. I even found the built-in speakers to be pretty good for a monitor, which was a pleasant surprise. My only suggestion would be to make greater use of the USB-C hub functionality in the monitor – two USB 2.0 ports feels a little old-school; the monitor could have just as easily had several more USB 3.0 ports instead. However the port selection is probably more than adequate for the vast majority of people. The inclusion of an 85W USB-C output is exceptionally useful though when paired with my new laptop. I really appreciate the little features like the built-in cable tidy, which keeps your desk looking neat. Overall this is a very impressive bit of kit that I haven’t hesitated to recommend to the other developers in my office. I can see this monitor keeping me blown away for a good few years.
