With a 1500R curvature, the C34J791 34″ 21:9 Curved FreeSync VA Monitor from Samsung offers a viewing experience that envelops the viewer in their multimedia content. Flicker-free technology, AMD FreeSync support, Game Mode, and Eye Saver Mode all help to provide a healthy and enjoyable time whether you’re writing up a report, playing games, or simply kicking back and watching a movie.
This Samsung monitor features a 3440 x 1440 resolution, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, a 300 cd/m² brightness rating, a 100 Hz refresh rate, a 4 ms response time, and support for up to 16.7 million colors all designed to provide a crisp, clear picture with reduced ghosting and blur. Additionally, the C34J791 display offers 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles along with the ability to tilt the display or mount it to the wall for more comfortable viewing. Setup is simple as this monitor comes equipped with DisplayPort, HDMI, and Thunderbolt 3 inputs as well as a built-in USB 3.0 hub to connect USB compatible peripherals directly to the display. For mounting this monitor to a wall, there is a 100 x 100mm VESA mount.

The Samsung C34J791 is a 34” ultrawide monitor with excellent picture quality. It has a high contrast ratio due to its VA panel and displays deep but not very uniform blacks. It is more suitable for an average lit room as it cannot get very bright to fight bright room glare. It has great gray uniformity, which is great for browsing the web, but the bad viewing angles make it unsuitable for working side by side with a colleague. It has great motion handling with a fast 100Hz refresh rate, supports FreeSync and has a low input lag to please gamers.

these monitors are some of the best i’ve seen for data-intensive displays. the multipacks make it easy to order several at a time and assemble an excellent workflow; our workstations are almost legacy-free. connections work well, and the reliability issue has been solved this time

The display itself is fine. Color is good for a VA panel but you will see pixel grids in fast transition colors, which is not a problem with IPS. The worst thing about this monitor is its FreeSync implementation. It’s advertised as a Thunderbolt 3 display, which is true. But the FreeSync feature, which is another major advertised benefit, is only enabled in DisplayPort and HDMI connections. Very disappointed to only find that out after purchase. And when using FreeSync with DP connection, many games will flicker on frame rate changes. It seems to be a common issue for Samsung QLED monitors. I end up using TB3 without FreeSync and just use VSYNC setting in those games that experience screen tearing. It works. But what did I buy this monitor for?

i’ve had no issues, excellent display, perfect for my mac mini, utilizing thunderbolt and which needs a better audio source. only minor downside is the volume control, which is not controllable via the os, but the picture, responsiveness, and perfect size/curvature make this worth the price. i wanna see a newer thunderbolt model to go with the new m1 mac minis.

I use this monitor for a combination of different applications on my PC. Most of what I use my monitor for is video editing and the clarity is the best I’ve ever seen on any monitor I’ve owned in the past. It’s the most precise for video’s that I edit on a daily basis and the output and quality is remarkable! Hands down, on a scale of 1 to 10, I rate this monitor at 9. It would rate it as a perfect 10 if the refresh rate was a little bit faster. Otherwise I love it!

it was lovely for samsung to ask for product experience feedback on the same day i spent 45 minutes on hold with the samsung warranty dept. i’ve experienced the following issues: 1) the monitor occasionally will emit loud, sickening electrical popping sounds akin to electricity arcing between electrodes. 2) the usb-c connection sporadically doesn’t work. the screen drops out and goes black 3) the monitor is wobbly. it shakes with the smallest nudge. i bought this monitor based on brand loyalty. i recommended it to 3 friends. one friend purchased it as well. regret. the monitor was sent shipped back for repair. let’s see is samsung can make this right.

Thunderbolt 3 Ultra Wide Screen Curved Monitor is by far the best monitor that I have ever owned. Bought it myself for home use. My grandkids get as much enjoyment out of it as I do. The colors are so vibrant and clear. Spend many hours watching animated kids movies with my grandkids. Kids love the curved screen.

This monitor is top notch when using it for high end gaming. The colors, and fine pixels keep up with the fast changing feilds. When streaming in HD the screen is smooth, never choppy. The colors are crisp and clear. No fuzziness or hesitations. The settings are also easy to use and tweeking the colors, sizes and brightness are easily adjusted. This screen will handle all the tasks you give it.
