With the Samsung LS27AM500NNXZA 27″ 16:9 Smart FHD HDR VA Monitor, you have the power to be productive and entertained at a distance without having to connect a computer. Like a smart TV, this 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution monitor has built-in speakers and can independently run apps such as Microsoft Office 365 in addition to Netflix, YouTube, and other streaming entertainment services. This allows you to quickly switch from being productive to watching immersive entertainment at a distance using the included remote control. Use the Wireless DeX utility to stream apps and content such as photos and videos from your phone to the monitor without having to connect additional cables or turn on the computer. The LS27AM500NNXZA has built-in Bluetooth for connecting wireless peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and more. With its integrated sensors, the screen automatically adjusts its brightness to match the ambient light. Switching the screen to Ultrawide Game View mode allows you to see more detail in supported games using a 21:9 aspect ratio.

This monitor setup was easy and straightforward the height was average and would be better if it were adjustable (especially when using the embedded office suite). I appreciate the size and clean lines and it fit well into my existing multi monitor setup. I have tried a few of the streaming apps (need to already have an account) and found it to be very quick and responsive for watching a movie. the main function of a computer monitor is OK but could do with a higher resolution and sharper picture here but I could just see if its a tweaking of settings issue.The embedded office suite is nice but a little slow and prefer to run locally on my PC. The “tap phone to back of monitor” for seeing phone video or listening to music is nice but also a little slow connecting and could just be my network. I use Smartthings in my home and monitor pair well but was sluggish in response, again could be my network. I need to run the monitor through some more tests to get a better feel for it. Overall great addition to my Samsung family.

monitor will not wake up from sleep in any scenario. to get it to wake up again i have to unplug all monitors and restart the computer.

Having moved from a 27 inch monitor I expected the Samsung M5 to be much larger. Surprisingly it has similar dimensions to the old monitor it replaced, due to the fact that the bezel is very thin, thus maximizing the screen area. This was a very welcome realization, more monitor with much less wasted space. Overall construction is very good, it has a heavy base and looks very sharp. The remote looks like something from the future and has all the buttons you could need with out all the clutter. Sound has been better than expected, when turned up the sound can fill a room. It’s very feature packed. With multiple streaming services pre loaded and the option to add more it has everything you need to use it as a monitor and office TV. Using the DEX feature has been a little touchy. You have to get you phone into just the right area to wirelessly connect, but once connected it runs smoothly. Overall there aren’t any areas that I can find to improve on. It looks great, is well built, has loads of features and works very well.

This is a very feature-heavy display. It is also a very interesting one indeed. I don’t believe that this is a monitor flat out but am glad nonetheless that it provides a decent display. The setup was rather simple which is the usual for Samsung displays. The lack of display ports on the display is disappointing but the included HDMI cables is a good substitute. Since it is a smart display, you do have to go through the setup process and log into your Samsung account to continue. The display is really feature-heavy. That being said, having a monitor with smart features is cool but I do not really use them once the new-factor wore off. The Samsung dex feature is really nice for owners of Samsung smart phones. I just don’t find myself using it much as someone using the monitor with a PC as my PC kind of handles all of that already. Performance-wise, the monitor is great for doing simple processes or work. The easy to use navigation makes it simple to navigate and change settings and Samsung knows how to make displays look good. It does however take some adjusting out of the box because the base settings are very bright and washed out. A Monitor having a game mode is very interesting because it shouldn’t be necessary for a monitor to have “game mode”. Monitors should have low input-delay out of the box. That being said, I can see the appeal for people that want a capable monitor for office work or good image quality. For a power user or gamer, there are definitely other options if input delay or viewing everything from your PC is more of your thing. For me, it makes an excellent secondary monitor for web-browsing, work, or simply having Discord open for voice calls.

This monitor is very unique. It has the same features as a smart tv just in a pc monitor. The picture is good quality (wouldn’t say great) but not bad. I would have to say the worst part about this monitor is that we have a Samsung TV in the same room as this monitor and anytime you use the remote for that TV it turns the monitor on/off or the volume up/down. That is kind of frustrating. Gaming on this monitor is nice. The refresh rate is wonderful and smooth. It keeps up with the best of them. The set up was easy using the hdmi cable that came with the monitor. It was easy to set up. All and All it’s a good monitor.

the m5 is a well-designed, clean looking monitor with a lovely clear matte finish display. truly an upgrade for me. the hdmi set-up was easy as pie as was netflix and prime functions. airplay and mirroring worked well with my iphone and mac, but did take me a few minutes to figure it out. streaming from my iphone via airplay was simple. speaker quality is excellent. the remote control looks and feels solid. the office 365 feature is disappointing as you basically connect to microsoft via the browser. overall, the monitor is nice but system specs prevent it from being a real entertainment device or a tv replacement. documentation must be improved as neither the included document or the user manual cover all of the “features” with enough detail. overwise, i am very pleased.

monitor stand is very poorly designed. brace is metal, but encased in a plastic sleeve. that brace is only held on by a small peg at the bottom. this monitor has a tendency to be forward heavy. the first time i tried to adjust it that plastic casing cracked open. doesn’t appear stable enough to be able to stand moving the monitor. color & clarity aren’t the best. the reds are very orangy. you can see slight shadowing/pixelation around the letters and images – very little “clarity” or sharpness. the picture is rather dark, no matter the room lighting. the speakers are in the back & sound awful.

wow, after working from home for over a year and trying to use dual monitors to display my data, this new samsung m5 32″ monitor has worked out great so far. the larger screen has been nice to display all of my work. when using it in this mode, the only issue was that my mouse movements weren’t that fine. it took a little effort to be able to click on certain items on the monitor. the next benefit of this monitor is that i can connect my ipad to it using the apple air play option. the resolution was good but it had a couple pauses in the background music as it played over the pictures. finally, the monitor is a smart tv. overall, this is a good option to replace a second monitor or just have a monitor that can be both a second screen and a smart streaming tv.

Things that I love about this monitor 1) Easy to connect with laptop (HDMI/Over Wifi) and other multimedia devices 2) Sound is great to listen music 3) Easy to switch between work and play (during lunch I prefer to watch Bloomberg) 4) Samsung has its own Samsung TV app which streams many free channels and unlike Youtube it does not pop out ads 5) Bixby is great, quiet impressed with the way it could understand my accent 6) You could install host of applications and listen to podcasts when not working 7) Display quality is great (Hey its made by Samsung)

I love this monitor! My girlfriend got this monitor to set up a home office, but also created a profile for me. I do not use the computer much, but when I need to do something on it, this has been lifechanging. I can easily complete tasks such as reading email and paying bills. The picture is fantastic, the clarity of text is wonderful, and the fact that I can easily watch videos and tutorials on things I am trying to learn about makes this monitor everything I could have ever hoped for.

I love my Samsung 27″ smart monitor and tv! It is great for work, gaming or watching tv. It was a breeze to set up. It does tilt but it would be nice if I could adjust the height. I also love the remote which is very easy to use. It looks great and I love the size. We love the two HDMI ports. One is connected to the computer and the other to the Xbox. It is very easy to switch from work to gaming.
