The Samsung 2TB T7 Portable SSD is a compact and secure storage solution that fits in the palm of your hand. Roughly the size of a few stacked credit cards, the T7 is equipped with 256-bit AES encryption and password protection, so users can rest assured knowing their data is safe. Moreover, with PCIe NVMe technology, the T7 offers users quick performance and little downtime with read and write speeds of up to 1050 MB/s and 1000 MB/s respectively. With a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, it’s also backward compatible with USB 3.0 and Type-A devices with an appropriate cable. The T7 comes with embedded management software, which helps you set up a password and get firmware updates. The software works with Windows and Mac computers and is compatible with Windows 7 and higher, Mac OS X 10.10 and higher, or Android 5.1 (Lollipop) and higher.

Incredibly Tiny. The T7 is about the size of five credit cards stacked together. It will fit in that tiny jeans pocket, not that I would recommend that! Incredibly Fast. With the included USB-C to USB-C cable, this drive has amazing read and write speeds. It has market leading performance. A USB-A to USB C Cable is also included in the box for those with older computers. Incredibly Powerful. The included management software from Samsung will guide you when it comes to encrypting your data to keep it safe from local physical access from others. Incredibly Versatile. The 2TB option is enough for me to feel future proofed for several years of data, photo, video and audio backups locally as well as transporting files from location to location.

This drive is fantastic, and stays cool when working with it which makes it perfect for mobile editing. I stuck some velcro on it and stick it to my laptop for an insanely mobile workstation. The space is a little tight for large productions, but this is PERFECT for a proxy workflow, especially on the go.

I have been using a 2TB Samsung T7 as my external media drive for the last couple years and it has been a gem. When I needed a solution to backup a 2TB M1 MacBook Pro with fast SSD, this was my first choice. This handles my back-ups in about half the time of my external rugged back-up hard drives. It was simple to setup and takes up little space.

I don’t like the red color, but I need it in a timely manner, so I got this instead of the blue color. I use this for Final Cut Pro video editing for 4K resolution on a Mid2015 iMac with Big Sur Mac OS X. This SSD drive makes the work flow speedy. So far it works very well with speed and reliability. It’s glad that I don’t need to purchase a new iMac for acceptable 4K video editing.

I was able to offload all my pics from the slow laptop drive to this fast drive which now allows me to be able to run Lightroom again! I like that i can password protect the drive for when can travel again. I bought a second to backup the main drive to. It is nice that this drive does NOT an external power source!
