I am probably not the most technically proficient computer user, so anytime there is a plug-and-play option, that’s for me! I needed this to backup my at-home consulting business files. I cannot afford to lose almost a decade of work. Some geeks recommended it and this seemed like the way to do it!

I needed something to back up my laptop and this hard drive is perfect. Fits in the small pocket on my backpack so I can take it with me. Also super fast, backed up my data in a few minutes.

This is by far the easiest recommendation i have ever had to make because of how awesome the drive is. The obvious cool thing about this drive is the size. Its small and thin and can even fit in my wallet if I wanted to because it has the length and width profile of a credit card. Granted, it is a little wider than its predecessor the T5 but the difference does not affect its portability. Note that it is also thinner than the T5.Even along with the included cables it fits into any pocket without being conspicuous. This makes it very easy to travel with and use on the go. The include cables are a huge plus for me because it helps the drive deliver on performance. True almost everything is USB C now and most people have cables they can use with it, but I found that using the included cables gives a slight boost in performance. The performance of this drive is amazing. Its read and write times were almost twice as fast as the T5 which was already plenty fast. The software utility included is intuitive and easy to use. It allows for either a password or a pin which also adds to its ease of use and portability. Whether I am connected to my phone, tablet or computer it is comforting to know that my files are secure and cannot be altered without my permission. The price is also very reasonable considering the protection you get. i got the 2TB which might be overkill for most but it comes in 500GB and 1TB also. It has been worth the investment for me because I know that even if I misplace it, my intellectual property and personal items will still be protected since it will only open as a read-only drive without the password. To sum up, its sleek, fast and secure and also a must have for anyone with any digital information to protect.

Performs perfectly. Only time will tell with anSSD if reliability is included.

Love this! Does exactly what it supposed to do… The only reason I gave it four out of five stars is the price… At this point these price point should be coming down! If this price work for 2 TB it would be a better deal and I’d give it five stars.

The Samsung T7 is an awesome way to keep important information safe while taking it out and about. It comes with both usb c to usb c wire and usb a to usb c, no need for an extra power cord. The memory device is small, about the same size as a business card; it is also thin and very light. It is very easy to carry around in a pocket, small purse, backpack, etc. It is very easy to open with the laptop or computer and bring back and forth. 1tb of memory is plenty of storage to store away videos, pictures, large and small files my computer has 1tb but most of it is used by now so this external memory has come in very useful. Setting up the password was easy and if you do not have the password you cannot get into the T7, keeping everything safe in case you misplace it. It does not make any noise at all, quiet, and do not even know it is there. And I really enjoy that It does not get hot at all, it is always cool even while using for an extended amount of time. You can access from phone computer and as long as you have the password then it is accessible. Performs great, very nice design, compact and amazing.

The Samsung Portable SSD T7 comes in a small box and right out of the box the body of the T7 is smooth, light and very compact. I took out a business card and it is just about the same size, 57mm by 85mm and 8 mm thin. On one side the USB-C connection is next to a LED light, easy to connect to mac, windows pc or android phone. The software was easy and fast to install since the drive comes with it. I like the password protection; it gives me a peace of mind if I were to misplace it. I also like that it is shock resistance and it does not make any noise. The one I got is Titan Gray but there are Indigo Blue and Metallic Red to consider. Almost forgot, something that you will not notice and it is great that you do not is the temperature of the T7, due to the heat control it does not overheat, there is no vent, fan or sound that comes out of it to cool it down and still stays at a good temperature so the Thermal Control does work. Just Awesome. I edit videos and photos and 1 TB is plenty of storage to have what I need at all times so I am enjoying the flexibility to have what I want when I want it. Great design and well made.

This drive is very fast on my 2018 MacMini (USB 3.1). I formatted it to APFS (note – need to format first to extended journal, than APFS). Write/Read speeds were 870/920 MB/s respectively. By comparison, my relatively new and similarly priced ScanDisk Extreme 2 TB drive, formatted the same, showed Write/Read 440/515 MB/s. I got the T7 at the sale price at B&H. Wow. The T7 came formate xFAT, which was about 2% slower. Have not put it in heavy use, but so far, I am very happy with my choice.

I’m using this to download .jpg files from my computer to show pics through my DVD players USB port. I started the download and checked on it a short time later. It was already compete and I thought that perhaps it had failed. Nope – just fast.

I have two T5’s and they run and work perfectly still, but the T7 runs so fast, it’s for sure a great upgrade.

As a photographer this is great for backing up my photos and video files on the go. Super fast and secure. I liked it so much I bought a second one (1TB in red) for my wife’s laptop.

Third one purchased. Just the size (500gb) for maintaining discrete project-level file back-ups and a size and weight that easily slip into a messenger bag pocket.

My third Samsung T-series portable SSD drive delivers speed and reliable storage for my photos in Lightroom Classic. The T7 is noticeably faster than my previous external HDD. When I import large files from a shoot, the drive is no longer a performance bottleneck. Since I am using Windows 10, I formatted the T7 with NTFS (instead of the file system it was formatted with). NTFS is a more reliable and performant file storage system. I always keep a backup copy in sync. I am a big fan of cloud storage but when you are not in a location with fast internet upload speed, the T7 SSD shows its strength.
