The Samsung 2TB T7 Portable SSD is a compact and secure storage solution that fits in the palm of your hand. Roughly the size of a few stacked credit cards, the T7 is equipped with 256-bit AES encryption and password protection, so users can rest assured knowing their data is safe. Moreover, with PCIe NVMe technology, the T7 offers users quick performance and little downtime with read and write speeds of up to 1050 MB/s and 1000 MB/s respectively. With a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, it’s also backward compatible with USB 3.0 and Type-A devices with an appropriate cable. The T7 comes with embedded management software, which helps you set up a password and get firmware updates. The software works with Windows and Mac computers and is compatible with Windows 7 and higher, Mac OS X 10.10 and higher, or Android 5.1 (Lollipop) and higher.

I was expecting this to be around the size of a standard 2.5 SSD, but this is WAY smaller. I’ve needed fast storage that I can edit on while I’m on the go and this solves that problem perfectly. Make sure you use a real USB 3.1 cable and proper port. The difference is insane. It wrote my last two filming sessions at 280MB/s using a USB-C 3.1 connection, and reads so quickly I can edit directly off of it. Definitely worth the money

the portable ssd t7 usb 3.2, 2 tb is the best drive on the market today. i have had the t3 and t5. they are wonderful. the t7 is faster, but the same quality. i highly recommend this drive.

It does slow down a bit once the generous buffer is full, but really that doesn’t happen often. And even then it’s still pretty spunky. The size is easy to move around. Also, it doesn’t blink or light up the room all the time. LED is useful but not overwhelming.

I use this drive to record what I shoot on my BMPCC 6k Pro. While Blackmagic Design recommends using a Samsung T5 drive, I’ve used this T7 drive and tested it at 6k in Q0 at 24 fps, and it’s performed wonderfully! Highly recommend this SSD!
