I bought a product that was compact and had significant memory – and Samsung Portable SSD T7 1TB hit the mark. The device is very user-friendly, as you simply plug in the UBS cord to the computer and portable hard drive. I used the portable drive to back up my entire computer, and I used less than 30% of the available space on the drive. Bottom line: this device is easy to use, functional, has a lot of capacity, and copies folders and files relatively quickly. Samsung could have provided a sleeve or case to protect the portable harddrive.

Excellent drive to store your personal, work-related files.

I just received my indigo blue portable SSD t7 and it is beautiful. I love the color and the size is perfect. It is about the size of a credit card and half the thickness of my phone. I love that it came with both a USB “c to c” and a “c to a” cable. I can easily carry the drive in my pocket to use on the go with my cell phone or tablet. I transferred movies from my tablet to the hard drive very quickly. A 2gb movie took about 10 seconds to transfer.

I’m using it as an external drive for running my OS system. Speed is super great, and my iMac works super fast BUT… will come back to tell if it last in time. For now it’s OKAY… reason why I gave 3 stars. Will come back a year from now to tell end results.

I’ve used Samsung drives for years for several years and they have always served me reliably. Their primary use is to back up data and to create an image of the C drive that contains Windows and my Programs and any files on that drive. There are several programs to do this; I happen to use Macrium Reflect (free version) but there are others. The ability to restore a computer from a backup image can save hours of time and aggravation.

I connected this drive to my Mac as a regular external drive and enabled the password but it’s not convenient. You have to use the Samsung app to enter the password after a reboot or if disconnected. It’s a better fit for travel/laptop if enabling security.

I have 4 Samsung SSD’s, one 2TB, two 1TB and one 500GB. My first purchase was the 500GB which encouraged me to buy the others. My only negative is they need to provide a 4TB portable drive. Love the performance and the portability. I can carry 4TB in one pocket and not worry about data damage.

I’m a big fan of these drives. I use them to shoot directly onto as well as work directly off of. They don’t really even get warm, or at least I haven’t experienced that yet. I also like that they come in different colors. Now that I have a few it helps me distinguish between them.

Compact, simple, durable. Needs a little case to store it. Also, no manual but online is avail for free. Really don’t need it to get started. Very simple. Recommended.

I’ve been a fan of Samsung’s portable SSDs ever since I got my first 256GB T3 drive 4 years ago. I must say, the T7 is a great upgrade. The size of the unit is roughly the size of a credit card and only 8mm thin making it so easy to slide into a pocket of your clothing or bag and take it anywhere. The built-in hardware encryption is a great feature. There is even a read-only partition on the drive that includes the installation software for when you need to access the drive on a new computer. My own personal speed tests gave 1004.6 MB/s read and 915.93 MB/s write (Blazing fast!!). The NVMe technology has certainly given this drive a leg up over the older Samsung models. The SSD also stayed cool during even extended transfer sessions. Would highly recommend.

I bought two of these SSDs from B&H Photo to archive my late mother-in-law’s digital photos and documents for each of her heirs. This device offered the right combination of price, capacity, compactness and durability/reliability I wanted for this purpose, as compared to USB sticks or HDDs.

After discovering a few 7200rpm HD’s had locked up in storage from non-use , I decided to switch to SDD’s. My research led me to the Samsung T7 as one of the best choices available. They are fast, reliable, and small. I own 6 of these; I add 1TB increments for a very reasonable cost. I recommend purchasIng them 2 at a time in whatever size you need, – the first for images, the other as a duplicate back-up.

Fast, Very secured, easy to use, Easy to carry around

Exactly what you’d want. Data moves very fast to and from the drive with the USB C cable–also comes with a normal USB. I transferred the entire contents of an old optical drive to this more secure version for long-term storage. No moving parts to break or wear down.

I use the Portable SSD for Mac Time Machine backups, and they are very fast, as expected. The device is smaller than I expected, and came with both UBS-C and USB-A cables. I don’t notice any performance issues when Time Machine is writing to the device, and they are completed very quickly. Great compared to my older disk drive I use on personal system.
