I bought two of the Samsung 2TB SSD drives for file backup. They are small, fast, and a pleasure to use. Setup was a bit clumsy, even with the full user guide that you should download – they need to revise the process. If encryption and password protection sound good to you, be sure you’ve read the details before you enable it.

I use the drive to transfer data between an iMac and a Dell laptop. It reads and writes very fast on both computers. No issues after a few months use.

Had this SSD for over 8 months and I’m glad I got it. Doesn’t get hot, and feels quality. Good performance for the price. Works well with Gen 4 NVME too.

While not the fastest SSD, it is a good bargain for the speed and capacity. Used to back up photos while traveling.

I love the T7 complements my 14″ MacBook Pro amazingly fast reliable and easy to use. Transferring files is almost instant. used it with a windows laptop before I got my Mac and It wasn’t as fast and responsive would only see speeds maxing out at the 400mbps now it easily reaches 800+. Transferring 64GB of raw photos from my sd card to the t7 is less then a minute now compared to five on the windows laptop. Easily handles building previews off of and work in off of for photo editing. Wouldn’t fully recommend doing anything more then 1080p 60FPS video editing off of it or you will see a slow down.

I use it everyday to carry raw files from Capture One Pro between computers from studio and home. Since working from home, this is faster than cloud because my session is around 30-50GB each.

Dion Boyer (verified owner) –
Excellent drive that is fast and so far reliable. I use this drive to hold my Lightroom Photo Catalog and access and use much faster than my computer hard which is also a 1TB SSD.

This T7 SSD is rated for USB 3.2 generation 2. My PC is rated for USB 3.0 generation 1. So, I cannot use the fastest transfer rate this SSD can provide. Why then did I purchase this one whose top speed I cannot use? Because I will not always own this particular PC. In 2 or 3 years I may have to purchase another PC which will undoubedly have the lastest USB generation and can take advantage of the fastest speed offered by this SSD T7. One feature that was really important to me was the activity light. There are many operations I perform when I really don’t know if an external drive is actually operating. Several other brands/models of SSD’s do not have any activity light.
Verla McGlynn (verified owner) –
If this will perform like the other SSD I have purchased it will be great.

The T7 is a great hard drive. It transfers final very quickly. I use it mainly for time machine on my Mac. Transfer speeds are important but the most important feature is the reliability and know my files are safely stored on Samsung drives.

I was shocked at how much faster the T7 series SSD from Samsung is, having used the earlier T5 for some time. With a full 2 TB of space, I can easily bring vast collections of images to present anywhere at all.
