I bought 3 of the ssds and I’m satisfied with the overall performance

Amazing to have 2TB in this small and handy a package. Already have a pair of T5s, and this just ups the game. No reason not to have multiple uncompressed backups any more. I remote the backups from the computers and keep some in the protection of my fire resistant gun safe.

Works great with my Apple M1 laptop and older Mac desktop. I’m very glad that it comes with both a USB-C cable and a USB 3.0 cable. My clients always like that I have a couple of these on hand for footage uploads when they do not.

I will preface this review by saying that as a videographer, I thank my storage seriously. Once I received the drive, I immediately plugged it in to perform some necessary tests. The drive surprised me with its performance, especially with it being so compact. I begin to add the drive into my real-world workflow offloaded HD and 4K footage, and the transfer rates were impressive. I did notice the top performance appears to require USB-C, but the performance I received on my MacBook Pro using a standard USB 3.1 Type-A port was also impressive. In summary, the Drive was easy to set-up on both my MacOS and Windows 10 devices. It is sleek and fits into my camera bag without taking much space, it appears to be pretty durable, it’s cool to the touch and the reputation of the Samsung name behind it has this drive as a pure winner in my book. My only regret is that I didn’t get an opportunity to purchase a larger size but I will surely be buying a second drive to go along with this one.

I had been eyeing Samsung’s portable drives for a while, so when I saw the new T7 and the bump in data transfer speeds, I knew it was time to buy. The build is sturdy aluminum, meaning I feel that it can handle going everywhere with me, a feature made even easier by its size. The new USB 3 connection is blazing fast, and I am looking forward to editing photos off of this drive.

Love this drive, great for clone back ups to test install software before updating my production drive.

Great hard rive & performance. To put into perspective, I use this hard drive to edit Red Komodo Footage ( 4K MQ 60 & 24 FPS ) on my MacBook. Works like a charm. Also great for High Res Photos with a large file size working off Bridge and PS / ACR.

Unboxing the Samsung Portable SSD T7 was a breeze. There’s the actual storage device that is thin and smaller than my hand, 2 cords that can connect C to C and C to A. I thought maybe it needed charged before hand so I plugged it in. I couldnt find in the quick start quide if it needed to be or not. When I plughed the C cord into my Android phone, a tab dropped down to connect my files. It brings you to all the files in your device that you want to transfer. There are also other files already preloaded on the Portable SSD that is useful as well. It tells you how to make a password to protect your items, an app you can download, and a how to use the device. This SSD T7 is seriously the easiest thing to use!!! I transfered over 4000 pictures and videos in under 5min. This would be such a time saver for important work documents!! There is a 3 year warranty on it as well. Also drop resistant up to 2 meters! I do wish it came with a case however. I’d hate for the port to get damaged somehow. The Samsung SSD T7 is compatible with Windows, Mac, Android. There is also a built in thermal control. While I did have it on the couch with me, it got a little warm to the touch. Nothing too hot though. I know my documents are protected within this!!

I was looking for something small and portable to back up video footage while traveling. It’s amazing to see the small size of the drive when it arrives – about the size of a thin stack of business cards. Just plugged it in and immediately had 1.81 TB of available memory ready to go. I was not expecting to get the maximum speed it proclaims to give, and not surprisingly, I didn’t. But it definitely is fast and even with a large daily load of footage it should only take a few minutes to back up. For real world actual speed performance, I tested it and under optimal conditions (nothing else running, direct transfer to/from a PC SSD via USB-C) I was able to get a write speed of 726 MB/S and a read speed of 769 MB/S. Not sure if I’ll need another one, but it comes in 3 colors which helps keep things organized. A 4TB version would be welcome.

Bought for my 2020 Tesla Model Y. Plugged the T7 into the USB port with the provided USB cord and formatted straight from the car. That was quick and easy and allowed for instant Sentry Mode and Dash Cam driving. After 1 week of Sentry Mode events and Dash Cam recording the Samsung T7 has performed flawlessly. The price was great and so was the shipping. Love B&H and supporting non-Amazon companies. I am a returning customer and I highly recommend B&H for all you electronic needs and will definitely buy here again!

I have purchased this reliable SSD before in the T5 version. When one of my SSD’s from another company jammed up, I decided to go back to the Samsung SSD, this time in the T7 2 TB I love the compact size, the speed of transfer, and the reliability. My only wish is that it would come in 4TB.

This SSD is the best portable device i have used so far: it’s very small and light, packs plenty of space, it’s ultra fast, it’s secure and it’s more reliable than a classic HDD or flash. At this point, not even sure there’s a reason to go back to carrying around flash sticks anymore.

This has been a true life changer for me. The transfer speed really makes it worth the price. Files that took me 30-40mins to transfer now only takes me less than 10 mins. Plus it’s really handy and tiny. Two cables the come with it is also a plus! Very convenient whether you’re a mac or a windows user.

with USB C-C connection it’s amazingly fast.
