The Samsung 2TB T7 Portable SSD is a compact and secure storage solution that fits in the palm of your hand. Roughly the size of a few stacked credit cards, the T7 is equipped with 256-bit AES encryption and password protection, so users can rest assured knowing their data is safe. Moreover, with PCIe NVMe technology, the T7 offers users quick performance and little downtime with read and write speeds of up to 1050 MB/s and 1000 MB/s respectively. With a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, it’s also backward compatible with USB 3.0 and Type-A devices with an appropriate cable. The T7 comes with embedded management software, which helps you set up a password and get firmware updates. The software works with Windows and Mac computers and is compatible with Windows 7 and higher, Mac OS X 10.10 and higher, or Android 5.1 (Lollipop) and higher.

I got this at B&H during an amazing sale and couldn’t be happier! I use this with my 2019 MBP for video editing on FCPX and it is super fast! Rendering time has decreased now that I am able to keep libraries out of my MBP SSD and reading files is super fast. Do yourself a favor and pick up one or two of these, you will not regret it. Only downside is that its not thunderbolt compatible. But at the deal I recieved, oh well. FYI, there are brackets made by smallrig that you can mount this to your camera rig and completely forget out sd cards if you want. It’s super small size just makes this purchase a no brainer.

I use the Samsung T7 500gb drive to store and edit current work. It serves as the first stage in my redundant back up system. I trust that it will perform correctly and have not experienced any issues with the drive. I would not hesitate trusting the T7 drives with any role my back up system. I’d give it 6 stars if it were an option.

It failed to achieve the indicated speed. About 600mb/s in usb-cEven if I changed the 40GB USB-C cable and only 50mb/s in usb3.0. I tried to transfer files to T7 in an old computer, USB 3.0 interface but the result was disappointing. 700G took ten hours and T7 crashed Only tens of kb/s in the end

Small, compact, easy to use; I got this to keep backups of my laptop, and so far it hasn’t disappointed. The USB 3,2 interface means that backups are quickly done. Since I download images and documents from the laptop to a larger desktop or burn them to CDs and keep a relatively bare system on the laptop, I can keep several backups which are done weekly and whenever an OS update is installed.

I purchased the T5 a few months ago and didn’t realize that there was a faster model. So naturally I picked up the T7 and it is twice as fast as the T5! I use these little drives for backing up files video files in the field and they’re fast enough to edit off of. Stamp of approval.
