The Samsung 2TB T7 Portable SSD is a compact and secure storage solution that fits in the palm of your hand. Roughly the size of a few stacked credit cards, the T7 is equipped with 256-bit AES encryption and password protection, so users can rest assured knowing their data is safe. Moreover, with PCIe NVMe technology, the T7 offers users quick performance and little downtime with read and write speeds of up to 1050 MB/s and 1000 MB/s respectively. With a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, it’s also backward compatible with USB 3.0 and Type-A devices with an appropriate cable. The T7 comes with embedded management software, which helps you set up a password and get firmware updates. The software works with Windows and Mac computers and is compatible with Windows 7 and higher, Mac OS X 10.10 and higher, or Android 5.1 (Lollipop) and higher.

Heard a lot about overheating on this T7. Mine (blue color) works just fine, it gets warm but performance is not affected. I used the drive mainly for video editing on Final Cut Pro with the M1 Mac Mini.

Would love to give this SSD five stars for its great design and speed. But that must be averaged with a one star rating for the software side of things. The Samsung software in/with the unit seems a buggy bunch of bloatware and I finally just had to delete all of it and just format the drive directly from the macOS operating system.

I’ve used T5s for the past couple years and they have been very reliable, hope these T7s serve me just as well! So far the read and write speeds checks out. Make sure you have just as fast USB hubs.

This is one of the worst drives I’ve even purchased. I’m very surprised about the great reviews (and I own 2 x T3s that never gave me trouble). Purchased originally to work with Black Magic atem mini pro iso and it doesn’t – The t5 is supposed to work well with it but this one won’t (my bad for not reading before buying and assuming the better speed rating would be a plus but one would think it would be a reasonable conclusion). Maybe I got a faulty one but this is going back.

I bought it recently and pleasantly surprised with the form factor. It is almost the size of a credit card, just a bit thicker.. It is equally super fast in transferring the files and safe. I could easily carry my personal files anywhere I go.

It was a bit tricky to get Samsung’s app to work on my Mac that allows the drive to be unlocked. I found some hints online to get around installation problems, and since then the drive had performed flawlessly. It is fast and I like the ability to make it encrypted with password protection.

For years I have been trying to find a solution of not having to carry around multiple or bulky memory devices. It’s literally smaller than my wallet. It was a breeze to set up and now I feel so secure if I misplace. Aluminum case is sturdy and won’t crack or damage from a small drop like some of my others I’ve purchased in the past. I was able to bring my workload home without having to lug the different devices I use there and still have my downloaded PS4 games loaded with tons more space still available. The speed loaded at the same rate from first file to file 247 I currently have loaded. I would definitely recommend and will be purchasing one for my son as well.
