The Samsung 2TB T7 Portable SSD is a compact and secure storage solution that fits in the palm of your hand. Roughly the size of a few stacked credit cards, the T7 is equipped with 256-bit AES encryption and password protection, so users can rest assured knowing their data is safe. With a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, it’s also backward compatible with USB 3.0 and Type-A devices with an appropriate cable. The T7 comes with embedded management software, which helps you set up a password and get firmware updates. Super fast and reliable. I have one I use for storage of photos and videos, and one for midi sample libraries. Read and write speeds are really fast. No downside for me.

I got this drive for my Mac for backing up photos and files and music and seems to be working great. Will see how it lasts happy with the transfer speed. So far so good? I will use it for some time and give another review later on as of now A+++++

The samsung portable SSD T7 500 GB memory device is amazing. I love the password security feature which puts me at ease with the sensitive information that I like to keep on the drive. The small card size design is amazing and it doesnt heat up making it optimal for long sessions. The device loads fast and the file transfers are extremely fast. Having connectivity via usb-c and usb-a makes this perfect for moving information between my two computers. The blue color is also an amazing look.

My second SSD drive like this and works great. Comes with software to install on various OS. Default format is ExFat, but can be changed if needed.

This is my third Samsung portable SSD drive. I use them when traveling to store pictures downloaded from the days shoot. I started with one 500gb and this is my second 1TB. They are fast, and because there are no moving parts, much less likely to fail in use. I have never had a problem and I have stored 10s of thousands of images on them.

In Apple world extra storage space is expensive, very expensive, this was a good compromise.

I bought this during thanksgiving deals. Its completely worth it. It resolved all our family photos backup issues. Its very handy, portable and easy to use. Now we dont worry about running out of storage space on our moboliles at all. Also no need to subscribe for online cloud storage.

Overall, I really love this PSSD, but sadly, ever since I had moved to Linux last year on November, even though it is not 100% compatible with the OS in the first place, I cannot access my PSSD to access the files I have stored inside it whilst on Linux, combined with the fact I encrypted it with my password. Linux cannot open the program by default, which requires the likes of Wine in order to open. But despite that, the OS (any Linux distro for that matter) still cannot detect it. So what I would propose, is to build a new T8 which would be compatible with not only Windows, Android, or even Mac, but also Linux. Or at the bare minimum, give out the source code to the Linux community to create a commandline program to access the likes of the Samsung PSSD T7 drive. Thanks for taking the time to read, and I hope some day this would be taken on board.

Have had their 500 MB and 1 TB drives – now have the 2 TB. Does get warm but working well. The Sandisk version that I purchased at the same time has gone bust! So will stick with Samsung for now.

Samsung SSDs are basically the industry standard at the moment, and this essentially gives you a portable version of the best drives on the market today. Smaller than a credit card and thinner than many smartphones, they’re ultra portable, extremely fast transfer rates, and great capacity options at reasonable prices per tier.
