Does what I bought it to do, fast transfer between my MacBook Pro and the T7. I’ve only had it a short time, but I expect it will be as serviceable as the T5 that I’ve used for several years.

I ordered this drive because I have experience with Samsung via a 500GB 860 internal drive for my C:/ in the desktop. I needed an SSD for a USB cache and scratch only drive. 500 is overkill but no 250 or were in stock. The price at a discount made it an easy choice. I plugged in the provided USB cable to the DT and installed the software. All seemed to be in order. I transferred the existing folders/files from the C:/ to the SSD, verified via File Explorer and the host software (ON1 PR 2020.5). On1 required a rebuild of image thumbnails so I let it run all night. The next morning the SSD did not appear in File Explorer. I unplugged it and inserted the cable to a connection on top of the DT. The SSD appeared. Bad USB port, right? Wrong. I did some photo adjustments and just generally checked the image folders/files. Everything appeared to be in order and the updates were registered. I almost always leave the DT running overnight but turn off the monitors. Next morning, same story – no SSD appearing in File Explorer. I know this port is good because I use it all the time. I unplug the SSD and reconnect it to the same port – there it was in File Explorer. I ran diagnostics and they said the drive needed to be repaired. I ran the routine and received a all OK message. Next day same results and W10 Properties said the drive was not responding. Enough. I called B&H, reported the issue and reordered. The drives are out of stock but I can wait. The reason I do busines with B&H, even if they don’t always have a lower or competive price is they stand behind the sale. I have work arounds so I can live with the delay, it isn’t B&H’s fault many products aren’t available – sign of the times.

Just recently purchased a PS 5 and was looking to expand the internal storage. This is a perfect fit for it. Easy to install and the data transfer rate was even faster than I had expected. Highly recommend if you’re looking to expand your PS 5 storage

T7 is prepared to USB 3.2 Gen 2. But I am using my T7 attached to my Dell G7 through the DisplayPort USB 3.1 Gen 2. It rushed in my notebook anyway. It reached 1028MB/s (read) and 896MB/s (write) measured by Crystal Disk Mark. Excellent purchase. Now it is the fastest drive in my notebook.

Have lost all files. It didn’t save anything. I don’t believe the USB us formatted

Noticeably quicker transfer speeds and video rendering speeds when editing videos in Final Cut Pro compared to the T5 model. I highly recommend the Samsung line of portable SSDs for fast and reliable data storage.

I have had positive experience with the Samsung T5 SSD and needed a bit more speed to back up my new Apple Mac Studio. The new drive works great and is very fast working with my backup software. The small size is also beneficial from a space savings standpoint. A very welcomed sturdy addition! A very good value based upon price/performance.

I bought this to act as my SD card in my Galaxy S22 Ultra phone. Doesn’t work like an SD card. Please put SD cards back in your phones!!

The T7 is extremely fast and extremely portable. It also comes with 2 cables, usb-c to usb-c and usb-a to usb-c. I liked it so much I bought a second one.

A must for digital photography files. The drive is small, sturdy, and the transfer rates are amazing by external drive standards. Get two so you can always have a backup of your LR and PS files. For Windows users, I recommend formatting the drive as NTFS which is faster and more robust, rather than the exFAT format the drive ships with. W10 Pro users can use BitLocker to encrypt the contents. While I have used external SSD’s in the past, the T7 and its precursor, the T5, are true game-changers.

This T7 SSD is rated for USB 3.2 generation 2. My PC is rated for USB 3.0 generation 1. So, I cannot use the fastest transfer rate this SSD can provide. Why then did I purchase this one whose top speed I cannot use? Because I will not always own this particular PC. In 2 or 3 years I may have to purchase another PC which will undoubedly have the lastest USB generation and can take advantage of the fastest speed offered by this SSD T7. One feature that was really important to me was the activity light. There are many operations I perform when I really don’t know if an external drive is actually operating. Several other brands/models of SSD’s do not have any activity light.

I had a hard drive crash on me recently and it rattled my freelancing job quite a bit. I had a lot of recommendations telling me to try an SSD as a new external drive, and I really like the Samsung. Setup was easy, and it’s a great addition to my workflow, plus it’s super light.

I got this to replace a very old (10+ years) hard drive where we store our digital music files. The old one was starting to make noise so I knew it was time to retire it. I asked a colleague for an SSD recommendation and he did not hesitate in suggesting Samsung. The T7 looked to be exactly what I needed – SSD, substantial storage, and compatible connections. When it arrived (very quick delivery, too), set up was a breeze and I was able to start using it within minutes! Highly recommended!

Cute as a cat, transfer files fast as a horse. It does a great job.
