The Samsung 2TB T7 Portable SSD is a compact and secure storage solution that fits in the palm of your hand. Roughly the size of a few stacked credit cards, the T7 is equipped with 256-bit AES encryption and password protection, so users can rest assured knowing their data is safe. Moreover, with PCIe NVMe technology, the T7 offers users quick performance and little downtime with read and write speeds of up to 1050 MB/s and 1000 MB/s respectively. With a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, it’s also backward compatible with USB 3.0 and Type-A devices with an appropriate cable. The T7 comes with embedded management software, which helps you set up a password and get firmware updates. The software works with Windows and Mac computers and is compatible with Windows 7 and higher, Mac OS X 10.10 and higher, or Android 5.1 (Lollipop) and higher.

Doing a lot of heavy read/write data analysis and deep learning application development I instantly noticed that this drive was MUCH faster reading and writing (even simultaneously) than other similar drives I have. Reading and writing using the USB-C connection it is as close to the same read/write speed as if I were working off my existing internal PCIe NVMe drive. It is extremely lightweight while still being very durable. I’ll look at getting another in the future whenever I need another drive.

Aesthetically its very nice. Its small and convenient, the cables provided seem like they’re high quality too. No problems so far, and the drive is pretty fast. I move around raw files and 4k video files and work off of this drive in school and at work. So far so good, its been about one month.

Bought this for more space. No moving parts, so it hopefully should last forever. Metal outer shell seems nice and protective. Very fast with the included USB-C, but they’ve also got an old USB-A included, which is convenient.

Need a fast drive to transfer large files from my Canon R5. It can’t. It initially transfers the first few Gigs of data blazingly fast, then it pretty much stops. Not only will it take several hours to transfer 20GB of data, but it won’t transfer 1GB of data either once the drive has been used a little. It’s literally taken 8 minutes to transfer 1.2GB of photos.

So portable so fast! These are great! I picked up my second one with a Black Friday deal. Plug it right into my iPad Pro to move photos around and backup. Half the size of my IPhone. Would love to own the larger capacity but too pricey at this point.
