This portable hard drive, including the password, works just fine on my Windows 10 desk computer. But after a windows upgrade it no longer opens on my laptop or on my work computer. The whole point of the password protected hard drive was to be able to securely carry my work around and open it where I needed to. It works well as a hard drive, but I had to disable the security feature. I’m pretty disappointed.

This does seem to be a fast and reliable drive. I use it for holding my photos until I’ve finished most of the editing I’m going to do and then I transfer to other storage and backup. Speeds up my photo editing. It’s also so tiny and slim it’s pretty cute.

The best thing about it is its small size, which will be great for travel. A heads up: the first time I saved a large folder (straight out of the box) it was terribly slow – slower than my mechanical spinning-disk drives. I was very disappointed. But after I reformatted it to suit my Mac it was much faster, closer to the advertised speed. It also, of course, makes a difference whether you are connecting it with the old or new USB.

Really small for such a large capacity!

I have several of these Samsung SSD’s, and all of them have performed beautifully. I bought this recent one as my computer backup drive, and it’s super fast. the setup is very easy. can’t beat the size and weight.

Fast write and read, convenient small size for backup on the road . Glad I followed recommendation of Steve Perry of Backcountry Gallery

it’s a samsung drive so it runs well. BUT… it is not a drive that appears in Black Magic’s list of recommended drives, and in fact will not be recognized by the 6K. the T5 (getting hard to find these days) is the ticket… 250GB and the 2TB while the T7 does not appear on the list at any size config. just a heads up… so you don’t wait excitedly for your drive to show up, only to have to hunt down another!

I’ve had this drive about two weeks now, just using it as an external drive for an automated backup that takes about 30 seconds each night. The drive works fine for a few days and benchmarks show full 800MB/S+ speeds. Sometimes after a PC reboot, sometimes the drive becomes soooooooooooooooooo sllllllloooooowwwwww, maybe 1/10 the speed of than the five year old passport hard drive it replaced. This causes the backup job to timeout and not get all the files. The Samsung tool shows the port is the optimum USB 3.2 gen 2 connection, but regardless, it has to be unplugged and plugged in several times before the benchmark will run at proper speeds. I’ve had this issue on two different PCs. Its not suitable for an unattended backup drive.

I use this on my computer to double the storage and it works great. It comes with a USB A and a USB C cable, so it’s compatible with virtually any device. The size is great also. It’s not too small and it not big either. This can fit in a pocket easily for portability. The metal casing is very high quality and makes it feel structurally sound.

I already have the Sandisk 1TB Extreme SSD and I’ve never had an issue but decided to pick up one of these for my wife’s photo storage on my Mac. The thing works like a charm, it’s incredibly fast for file transfer and live viewing, and the SSD is tiny. It’s really incredible how much improvement hard drives have had over the years and this one exemplifies the technology. The blue aluminum is beautiful and it’s worked well to dissipate heat unlike the Sandisk. I’ll probably get more of these the next time I need another SSD, Sure there may be more expensive SSD’s that are a hair faster, but for almost all cases outside of heavy video processing, this thing is perfect. Highly recommend!

Not much to say, this is a great storage solution that is fast, reliable, and incredibly compact. I have three and they store all my audio samples and other large files with ease.

It’s an external SSD. There isn’t much to say about it. It is very fast, as one would expect. The housing is sturdy, and its packaging was very nice.

I bought this along with a Galaxy Tab 8. I’m very impressed with the performance, along with the ‘mini’ size of this unit. Works well with both my phone and tablet, as well as my PC and laptop.

1gb files just fly in a second. I mostly work with images that are around 90-120megapix each, 1gb to 1.3gb each. These are for archiving artworks. God, it only needs 1 second per file. I wasnt ready. (using a 2017 MBP, direct usb-c)

I bought this portable ssd drive a few weeks ago and could not be happier with it! Visibly faster data transfer compared to rotational hdds, superb packaging and sturdy cable. Highly recommend this as THE portable drive to buy!

Got this transfer and play games off of my ps5. Reads games like a dream, and transfers them lightning quick. The design is functional, stylish and sturdy. This was totally worth the price!

My Samsung T7, which arrived last week, is working perfectly. Makes working on video editing projects faster than using a conventional (non-SSD) hard drive because of the speed with which it reads data. The electric blue color is nice too.
