I really like this thumb drive, just as I like the 32Gb version of the same thing. The only drawback, and the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is that it uses exfat rather than fat32 or some other universally recognized format. Since I use Linux, it wouldn’t work on my computer until I plugged it into a Windows machine and reformatted it as ntsc.

The writing speed from a PC to the device is from 40mb to 45 mb. My Sandisk Extreme kills this thing.

I distribute hundreds of videos on flash drives every year. I’m always looking for ones that not only have fast access speed, but more importantly to me, have a fast write speed since the duplication time is a critical component to work flow. This is the best I have found thus far (and I’ve tried many) and as a bonus, comes in a rugged steel constructed case. Additionally, I’ve never had a client complain about a defective drive. Summary, this is my go to drive for error free video distribution. Note: comes formatted as FAT32. You will need to re-format to ExFat to copy large video files.

The package states 200MB/s. The best I could do was 11MB/s. I really would like to know how 200, 300, or 400MB/s transfer rate was achieved for any of the Samsung USB flash drives that I purchased. I bet it wasn’t done with a desktop PC but probably a mainframe.

I think that the build quality is very good. I’ve used pendrives of 6 companies before and none have a build quality like this. I’ve used this product for 3 months and the speed has been up to the mark. I use other products of Samsung too, and there are some products which are of normal quality but I think that most of the products are extremely good and are a perfect value for the consumer’s money. I hope that Samsung will continue to build amazing products for the consumers to enjoy.
