I really like this thumb drive, just as I like the 32Gb version of the same thing. The only drawback, and the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is that it uses exfat rather than fat32 or some other universally recognized format. Since I use Linux, it wouldn’t work on my computer until I plugged it into a Windows machine and reformatted it as ntsc.

And it is wonderful. This is well worth the price! It transfers files so fast… no waiting for it to transfer files over. The transfer speeds are listed as 300MB/s, but I suspect it was actually much faster. I did try transferring some files and I blinked and it was done! I wish everything transferred as fast. The casing is lovely and has a hefty, solid feel to it. The casing has a hole on the opposite end from the USB which would work not only as a key ring, as the specs say but may be stuck on a ball chain as a necklace. I like that it is waterproof and temperature proof, no more worries if you accidentally leave it in the car. Shockproof is also another nice feature, no worries about it breaking when it slips out of your hands. And 128 gigabytes of space is lots of room for videos, photos, files or programs. I would definitely recommend this flash drive.

The package states 200MB/s. The best I could do was 11MB/s. I really would like to know how 200, 300, or 400MB/s transfer rate was achieved for any of the Samsung USB flash drives that I purchased. I bet it wasn’t done with a desktop PC but probably a mainframe.

Well I have had my flash drive for several weeks and have fallen in love with the speed and the ruggedness of this drive. I use it when I am mixing to save my files quickly. I use it when I need to transport large music files fast and this drive is doing a great job with that. I am often very hard on my drives as they go in my backpack or my pocket, on my lanyard or one of the many of situations I put it through. It has done very well with all and any circumstances of use. Indestructible!…..well …within reason. All solid strong metal, no flex and far smaller than I thought it would be, key chain hole makes great grip & you’ll never have to guess which side goes up when inserting. I had & was thinking of getting the type which are nearly flush to USB port but kept losing it as it was so tiny.
