This drive is the penultimate SATA SSD. Huge, reliable, and fast enough for us mortals. Sorry to see that it is no longer available. I put one in all my go laptops so I’d never run out of room. Of course, the drive is worth more than any of those laptops, but when those laptops die, I expect I’ll keep the 860 Pro drives for other projects since its TBW rating is twice that of any other I’ve seen.

The first Samsung 2TB 860 Pro (also purchased from B&H) was installed on February 15, 2019. This SSD failed on December 2, 2021. So, it was in continuous service approximately 30 months in my business desktop (the computer was down for three months in summer 2021 while I was out of town on business). The computer has 64GB memory, and standard business software which means no severe read/write duty. I am actually running two of these SSD — the 2nd is a hot standby. The second turned out to a good investment — thank you Casper. Three stars for now, lets see how long #2 lasts.
