I bought this to help a new computer that a client had that just wasn’t moving fast enough, ordered this drive and swapped the data.. instantly the computer came up way faster.. programs loaded and ran far better.. also upgraded from 4 to 16gb ram so teh computer is really happy right now…… This new drive made the computer come up and be ready to log in in 30 seconds… vast improvement from the 5400 RPM drive… I’ve had 10,000K RPM drives and they just didn’t do what they seemed they should, now this SSD drive promises and does what it should, Move DATA FAST!!

Decided to upgrade to this SSD as the factory SATA HD on my Dell starting acting up, slowing down everything and finally Dell Support Assist software highlighted an imminent HD failure. Did some homework and narrowed the choices down to Samsung & Crucial, deciding for this EVO series. Boot time and all processor-intensive applications are way-faster compared to the original HDD. As usual, GREAT service, price, delivery and beyond from B&H.

Just as I had upgraded my PC from its original Intel 120GB SSD to a Samsung 860 250GB SSD, I was now upgrading again with a Samsung 870 EVO 500GB, primarily for its additional storage capacity. The Samsung 860 250GB was working flawlessly, so I stayed with Samsung. I migrated all of my data as I had in the past using AOMEI Backupper and Partition Assistant (both freeware), not Samsung’s Migration software that came with the SSD. I found that Samsung’s software would have been unable to clone all of the partitions including RECOVERY. Furthermore, after migration, the old drive would have been rendered useless. The AOMEI Partition Assistant software replicated the old drive and all its partitions exactly and left the old drive perfectly intact. I now have both the original 120GB and the 250GB SSD’s stored safely with Windows 7 Pro OS and all of the original software should I ever need them as a backup.

These drives are a must for your internal storage. I have several of these and use them in my Atomos Shogun. They are rock solid and perform flawlessly. This is a must buy.

Installed on 12/09/2021. The install was quick using the provided data migration software. Took about 1 hour total. The boot up time is a lot faster, but what amazes me is how fast the programs load. Lightroom starts up real fast. So it’s a very nice upgrade for $60.

Replaced the failing HD in my mid-2015 iMac with this SSD. Now the computer is faster than when it brand new.

There is a reason this is a best-seller on B&H and elsewhere. I’ve tried other cheaper SSDs and they just don’t last like this one. It is well worth the extra money.

My standard drive began to fail and the Samsung SSD’s were the best rated I found. The price is decent, the Samsung software makes copying your old drive easy and the performance is incredible. I’m glad I bought the EVO, and B&H delivered it quickly.

I bought and had installed this 870 EVO SSD to add storage and to speed up my HP desktop. I am very pleased with it and highly recommend anyone needing speed to purchase any of the Samsung SSD’s.

Simply works great.

Fantastic drive. I’m using 8 of these drives for primary and ‘clone’ backups. Amazingly fast, totally quiet (of course), and never had a problem on any of them. Also easy to install, and the included ‘magician’ software makes cloning from older drives really easy. Overall great experience.

Only a few years ago I paid six times more for an SSD of this size, 500GB. This is better, faster, a great deal. I replaced the spinning hard drive in my 2012 Macbook Pro. This SSD performs flawlessly, snappily and the MacBook is much, much faster than when it was new. I use the Macbook as a capture station for Capture One and a Nikon D850. All applications run very fast and feel modern. Replace your spinning hard drive with one of these and that older laptop might not need to be replaced!

Fast enough for my photos and reliable.

I’ve found these Samsung EVO 860 and 870 SSD to be very fast and reliable. I also have the EVO 860 2 TB, and it worked flawlessly for over 2 years.

While not as fast as an NVME SSD, this drive is still more than fast enough for a boot drive.
