installed this ssd in a dell inspiron 660 install went smooth, migration of data from old drive to new with samsong software moved everything to the new drive absolutely seemless operation, get the goggles and scarf this will blow you away. i left the old drive in the computer just unplugged the power cable. my drive was the 2 tb drive and brother i needed the space

I only gave 4 stars to Samsung SSD’s because their data transfer software doesn’t work on Apple computers, forcing me to find the necessary software elsewhere. Why? C’mon, Apple and Samsung, let’s be friends and make life easier for us poor users.

Overall I’m very happy with this drive but… it’s not performing as advertised. This could be because of my system maybe? (All drivers updated)This drive is rated for 560 Mbs read & 530 Mbs write, but I’m getting 551 Mbs read & 496 Mbs write. Not to mention the IOPS are extremely low compared to what’s documented (like 70000 below), but overall is been functional properly(not including speed). I’ve only owned this drive for like 2 weeks, so a review this early seems premature & has no relevance to long-term use. So do what you will, with this info.

Replaced a 5400 rpm 1 TB drive on a mac mini 2014. Samsung does not have apple cloning software so I downloaded a trial carbon copy clone software. The old HD was real slow.. it was still good, no bad sectors found. I found some important tool to gain access to the motherboard, & slide it out without cracking the motherboard at the I fix it co., these tools are all important to properly replace an ssd HD. This apple mini can still download the newest version 10.16, so I figure I can get another 3 – 5 years with this replacement.. wish I could upgrade the memory.. the 1st components to fail are the HD, & memory.. if apple would make these products more user friendly repair ability, the product life could easily be duplicated.. I have another 3 – 5 years of more life w/ this new Samsung ssd..

It was very easy to install, but did not come with a SATA cable and in order to install it I had to run to my local Best Buy to pick one up. My sales guy could have warned me about that so I would be ready.
