I bought the 4 TB 870 Evo to use with a Qwiizlab docking unit. No problem at all. This Samsung ssd is very fast and I am looking forward to using it for a long time. I will most likely buy another one so I can swap out the two Samsung ssd’s on the go. Plus, as usual B&H service from ordering to delivery was outstanding.

Fantastic drive. I’m using 8 of these drives for primary and ‘clone’ backups. Amazingly fast, totally quiet (of course), and never had a problem on any of them. Also easy to install, and the included ‘magician’ software makes cloning from older drives really easy. Overall great experience.

Replaced a 1 TB 5400 HDD with this drive. Only 10% for the HDD was in use. The desktop with this drive is much faster, especially when booting up, and there is no longer the HDD whirr. Very happy I did it, and it eliminated the long wait for the HDD go get the desktop booted up. Samsung reliability, speed, and the Samsung Magician.

The 870 EVO seems to be the perfect fit for my tastes. Good endurance and speed at a (relatively) affordable cost. While QLC drives are more affordable and probably fine for my needs, I don’t mind the extra cost to get TLC endurance. Obviously I haven’t owned it long enough to test it, but I’m expecting to use this drive for years to come.

So, I wanted a 4T drive. I usually get the Pro version of this drive, but could not afford it and I needed the drive space. This works great. Be sure to note that you’ll need to make sure your computer can handle a 4T drive. When I just plugged it in to my laptop, it showed up as a 2T drive and I couldn’t just get it to operate as 4T. As it turned out, I needed to upgrade my BIOS, and format the drive as GPT. Also, if put into an external enclosure, you’ll need to ensure USB 3.1 interface with your computer. USB 3.0 might work…. I don’t know.
