Replaced a 5400 rpm 1 TB drive on a mac mini 2014. Samsung does not have apple cloning software so I downloaded a trial carbon copy clone software. The old HD was real slow.. it was still good, no bad sectors found. I found some important tool to gain access to the motherboard, & slide it out without cracking the motherboard at the I fix it co., these tools are all important to properly replace an ssd HD. This apple mini can still download the newest version 10.16, so I figure I can get another 3 – 5 years with this replacement.. wish I could upgrade the memory.. the 1st components to fail are the HD, & memory.. if apple would make these products more user friendly repair ability, the product life could easily be duplicated.. I have another 3 – 5 years of more life w/ this new Samsung ssd..

Over the last few years, I have purchased multiple Samsung EVO SSDs. They have never disappointed me. As for my headline, there is another brand I have also purchased several over the last few years. My choice between the two depends partly on the intended application and price. The costs of Samsung are higher, sometimes not much higher, so I purchase these Samsung drives when the price differential is small, and when the intended use calls for more robust specs. Keep in mind that the other brand has very good specs, it is that the Samsung have better specs, especially in that the expected total writes and reads of the drive are significantly higher. Read/write speeds are marginally better. In those situations where price is not an issue, I go with one of the Samsung EVO drives.

Use it to install games. Fast and reliable. A bit expensive than other brands. But it is a good investment.

This hard drive was an absolutely awesome product. It works very well out-of-the-box no installation required other that we are going to put it I would highly recommend

I place Samsung 870 in all my clients’ machines. The Samsung Magician software is good support and offers a RAM cache as well.

I bought a 1 terabyte SSD for my desktop that was aging quickly almost to the point that I was ready to toss it away. I put in the 670 EVO SATA 1 TB and the computer runs better and faster than when it was new. As a result, I bought another 250 MB for my laptop with the same result of huge speed increase making the laptop a top performer.

I have only had it for a month, and got the ‘Puter up and running 2 weeks ago, but all in al its is running great! And of course the help at B&H was extraordinary!

Overall I’m very happy with this drive but… it’s not performing as advertised. This could be because of my system maybe? (All drivers updated)This drive is rated for 560 Mbs read & 530 Mbs write, but I’m getting 551 Mbs read & 496 Mbs write. Not to mention the IOPS are extremely low compared to what’s documented (like 70000 below), but overall is been functional properly(not including speed). I’ve only owned this drive for like 2 weeks, so a review this early seems premature & has no relevance to long-term use. So do what you will, with this info.

It works, but isn’t quite up to the 560MBps expected. Could be worse I guess. I’d stay away.

Replaced a regular hard drive with this SSD in my laptop and it vastly speeded up boot and opening and using apps.
