Samsung #1 in SSD

Bought for PS4 Pro Hard Drive upgrade. Excellent speed, game’s work so smooth and fast! HD lasted a little over 1 year, then apparently died. Samsung replaced it, no hassle! Great Warranty service!

I bought this drive 3 months ago and my computer is faster than when I first purchased it.

Replaced a macbook pro laptop HD, gave new life to the laptop by making it speedy like new.

The drive is working great so far. I finally have room to keep most of my Steam library ready to play on an SSD! Hopefully B&H doesn’t have the review switcheroos that Amazon does, but here’s the product I ordered: Samsung 1TB 870 EVO SATA III 2.5 Internal SSD.

Received this quickly and is working exactly as expected so far. It has only been running for about a week so I can’t speak to its longevity, but at least it is working correctly and is so much faster than the spinning hard drive it replaced! Note for anyone reading, this comes with NOTHING for cables or mounts or screws. It is simply the drive itself and a little warranty booklet. Make sure you purchase a SATA cable and mounting screws and etc if you don’t already have them! I was lucky I was able to scrounge up a cable and screws for it.

There is a reason this is a best-seller on B&H and elsewhere. I’ve tried other cheaper SSDs and they just don’t last like this one. It is well worth the extra money.

I purchase to upgrade my HDD which was so slow that I nearly donated my gaming laptop. With a simple change to Samsung’s SSD I was able to revive my computer and it now runs better than ever. Their migration tool was super simple to use just keep in mind you may need to purchase a sata-USB connection to do the transfer.

I bought this six months ago and works as advertised. No issues

The Samsung EVO is so thin and light, it takes virtually no power and is perfect for a compact build. I have a couple of Intel NUC units that have this drive. Speed on read/writes is super.

These appear to be exceptional drives and a little pricey, but worth it for the 3 year warranty. Stay away from the seagate and Western digital SSD in my opinion. Google “Western Drive SMR lawsuit.” In a nutshell there are two competing methods to writing onto a platter SMR and CMR. I spent copious hours researching the drives. After an exhaustive search I choose Samsung. I can’t support Western Digital or Seagate for their unethical business practices. 1. About a year ago these were twice the price on a per gigabyte basis; roughly $.35 a gig 2. I’m using the SSD with the Atomos Ninja V so I can go from the GH5 to the Atomos and record natively on prores 422 (plain Jane) 3. What’s neat about the SSD and the enclosure you can edit directly off the SSD 4. Buy the AngelBird cable to connect USB-C to SSD 5. The pricing is currently per gigabyte: 500gb=$.23/GB 1GB=$.17 2GB=$.15 6. Unless you’re going prores HQ (why bother?) or prores Raw then stay with the 2TB. You loose about 25% of the drive if your trying to maximize for speed. Regular ProRes is more than enough if your shooting in Vlog-L and filming for YouTube or doing industrials, corporate, wedding/event. 7. I would start with an 1TB drive at the very least. You can create folders on the Ninja V and then cross polinate footage on a single drive. In hindsight I would go with minimum 1-2 1GB platters. That way all your content for that project remains on a single 1TB SSD. I think it’s a better approach then junking up the 2TB SSD with multiple projects. Cleaner workflow. I also think with the Ninja V they use xfat formatting and it’s not recommended to delete files to make for space.

Having had good work experience with samsung t5 drives, this was high on my list of internal ssd drive choices. Using it as an internal drive on the AGBTEK with a mac mini M1. So far everything is working well without any issues as I would expect.

I bought this for my brand new pc and I was so happy with it. The install was super easy and the 1tb storage was great for the price I found.

Only a few years ago I paid six times more for an SSD of this size, 500GB. This is better, faster, a great deal. I replaced the spinning hard drive in my 2012 Macbook Pro. This SSD performs flawlessly, snappily and the MacBook is much, much faster than when it was new. I use the Macbook as a capture station for Capture One and a Nikon D850. All applications run very fast and feel modern. Replace your spinning hard drive with one of these and that older laptop might not need to be replaced!

What more could you ask for? Its sleek black finish down to the blazing speed helps you become a better Master Yi. You will not miss your Q guarantee!

Cloning drive was easier than expected but required fine tuning within the Samsung Magician application to get maximum performance.

Fast and large capacity SSD from a reputable manufacturer. Somewhat expensive but it’s benefits outweigh the cost.

This is a great SSD with a good amount of storage and performance especially for the price. I can’t speak for longevity but if it’s anything like my other Samsung SSD it will probably last a very long time.
