Thunderbolt3 – finally a product that utilizes the B/W. And it works flawlessly OOB with a Mac M1. I suggest buying the biggest one… this was just a test purchase. I’m very satisfied.

Didn’t realize how much frustration I was causing myself by editing to slower drives. This allows your machine to run to it’s full potential when editing videos.

I have two of these drives, and may buy more. Fast and reliable. I like the Gdrives I own.

Good Tool. I like it. Reading speed with Blackmagic Disk Speed Test is +- 2500Mb/sec. I already started to use it for KONTAKT player’s sound libraries. Loading speed is coming form structure of library. From musicians viewpoint. Using this tool for Sound Base is comfortable (8 from 10). My workstation is Mac mini (2018) macOS Monterey 12.2 3.2 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7 8 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

I wanted to expand storage for my M1-Max Mac Studio, and this is the perfect fit. Totally plug and play, with spectacular transfer speeds. Ideal for video work under normal 4K situations. Well built and good looking. I did try to connect to an older iMac with an older Thunderbolt port by using an adapter, but had no luck as others have noted. Any newer M1 based system should work as expected.

I bought this drive to use as an external drive for video editing because I needed a fast drive. I was not disappointed. As you can see from the photo the read and write speeds are both well over 2000. I would definitely recommend this drive.

When it comes to storing my pictures I’m not about to go cheap so I put my trust in SanDisk.

This is very speedy, built like a tank, and very reasonably priced. Not necessarily a negative, but be aware that this unit is a bit larger and heavier than other drives in this class/capacity.
