I searched through a bunch and this one fit the bill. I’ll know next week how it did. I saved all our important family stuff into it just before the Xp computer died. Updating to windows 7 so we’ll see.

I use these to back up my photo files after they have been processed in lightroom. I like them better than burning to DVDs and they work as expected.

Works like a flash drive should. Can’t beat the price for 32GB. Only problem was it came formatted in FAT32 instead of NTFS. The first time I tried to save large files to the flash drive it generated no space errors. Using the Disk Management tool and changing the file system type of FAT32 to NTFS, the flash drive worked great. I am using Windows 10.

It works well and is fast, although not nearly as fast as the 32GB Ultras. Two problems: With the exception of one unit (a large Glide, I think) all the large flash drives from SanDisk lately (1yr+) have come up short on storage capacity. This one came in at 125 GB, which is a bit better than most, proportionally. Like most corporations these days, they aren’t keen to hear from customers apparently, but these shortfalls in actual versus stated storage will get them sued one of these days with a class-action suit, I think! I’m surprised that it hasn’t already happened. Another 128GB drive from about 2 yrs ago failed within a few months. I has a lot of photos on it that I can’t change or work with, although I can read them. (I use a lot of flash drives as spin-up-free working drives.) I haven’t yet found a way of even contacting SanDisk about this kind of problem.

The manufacturer retails this in packaging designed to discourage tampering…a little like Fort Knox discourages swiping gold bars.
