I had a 1T Western Digital drive that went bad after three years, this is soon for me, I really take care of my hard drives I have some that are ten years old. Now with this 256 GB Flash Drive I don’t feel as though I have to worry about a disk drive going bad. I never needed 1T of space anyway. 256GB is fine and the price is reasonable. Also, all I have to do is plug it into the computer, don’t have to have an electric connection like I did on my Western Digital. For just regular backup, this drive is great.

Can’t tell you how many boxes of these thumb drives we have laying around. So handy for handing off files to other people in the office for quick review or printing. Never had a bad one either…

When I received this I tried it in one computer and it wouldn’t recognize the drive or acknowledge that one was plugged in. I took it to another computer and it did pick it up so I copied some files to it. The copy process went slower than using a USB 2.0 drive. When I took it to a third computer it would not pick up the drive at all. After trying it on the 4th and 5th computer and no response from the drive, I tried it back on the 2nd computer and no response at all. The drive acts as if it is completely dead when tried in both USB 2.0 and 3.0 slots. Using another pen drive I confirmed that all the USB slots that I tried this drive in were still working. It seems that this drive was just not intended to work.

What more can I say. This is a fast USB 3.0 thumb drive. It works as expected and seems to be mechanically robust. The driver installed automatically as soon as it was connected to my Windows 7 Pro computer. I would expect nothing less from Sandisk.
