I bought a 1TB WD Passport to backup my ps3, unfortunately I needed a powered hub to do the backup and so I purchased this device in lieu of a hub. I backed up my 80 gig FAT PS3 in about 40 minutes. 19 gigs worth. It was decent speed for a USB 2.0 and it worked. Bottom line, if you have under 64 gigs of data, use the USB drives. It then allows you to keep the backup in the event your PS3 crashes… Side note: The 1TB drive I purchased is now connected to my TV streaming movies so it’s a win win.
