I use this as a backup boot drive in case something happen to my main drive and its been great. If you want the fastest small flash this is the ticket.

Fast speed but it was very hot without much usage, I Just kept plugged in for 5 mins without usage.

Im working off a SSD HD in my PC. Nothing fancy but transfer rates are consistently anywhere between 75MBs to over 400MBs relative to the size and quantity of files being transferred. Im using the drive very regularly (not always daily) and am very pleased with the performance of the drive. Only drawback is superficial. Scuff marks on the edges of the drive from ordinary use. I had to drag this down to Earth somehow, right? In the future Ill only be using 3.1 SSD flash drives (unless some other future tech runs this over). Anything else is just plain slow. FYI: Weather or not you decide to buy this drive, just remember to check transfer speeds of the actual drives inside the casing. USB 3.0 or 3.1 is just an interface, check what the drive itself can deliver.

So far it has worked like a charm

I’ve used the Samsung Pro SSDs before on one of my laptops, and was going to get another one for my workstation notebook, until i saw this on sale. The reviews and benchmarks puts it very close if not the same as the Samsung Pro SSDs. The sale price and the 10 yr warranty ultimately sold me on this. Clean install of windows 10 was quick, but everyday operation is where it shines. Boot times are FAST, very quiet and makes NO spinning noise, and though it does get warm, it’s not as hot as a spinning 7200rpm HDD. programs are responsive as heck, no discernible lag. in a nutshell: superfast quiet uses less power generates less heat 10 year warranty (best in class like the Samsung Pro SSDs) much lighter not prone to magnetic interference much more affordable now The Sandisk Extreme Pro SSD line seems to be getting phased out. other 2 models are now discontinued here on B&H, so better get this while they last. ***when registering online, the serial number is on the drive only, it’s not on the box. so jot it down or take a pic of it before you install it.

The SanDisk 128 GB Extreme Pro USB 3.1 flash drive is an outstanding product. It’s fast, well constructed and can hold more information than most can imagine. Don’t waste your time with the slow and small flash drives go professional!

In what non-existent universe is the write rate 385 mb/sec? I used this drive to back-up my hard disk by plugging it into one of the 3.0 USB ports of my Mac Mini. The files on my 1 terabyte hard drive used 120 gigs of space, and the transfer time required was in excess of one hour, or a transfer rate of about 33 mb/sec. Less than 1/10 of the maximum advertised speed! Just for reference, when I tried the copying procedure hooking up a sixty dollar Toshiba deck of cards sized 1 TB hard drive it required only 30 minutes or half the time. (this was not a solid state drive) I really wish the FTC would clamp down on the wildly exaggerated claims made by product manufacturers, as it does a disservice to the purchasers of these items. Yeah, I could have returned it I suppose, claiming it was not as advertised, but why bother. I learned my lesson, namely Caveat Emptor!

I bought this flash drive for its speed. It has lived up to its billing and I know realize that all flash drives are not only equal according to size, but also speed. This is very fast. If you need speed, make sure you get SanDisk Extreme Pro USB 3.1

This is a good one fit to use with bmcc (It’s popped when i chose to buy black magic cinema camera) it comes with thick extender and make it fit to push in the ssd hole in the camera. Unlike samsung evo840, i need to custom made that thing to make it fit in the ssd slot.

Recording studio application. Super fast. Replaced my conventional 7200rpm drives.

I have this drive running in a Linux box and can’t say enough good things about it. It’s quiet, 0 spin up time and what seems to be instant file access. Boot time from cold start to everything open and ready to run is less than 8 seconds running Linux Mint 17. There’s no down side to adding this drive to your system, or swapping out an old mechanical drive. If you have an older machine adding a SanDisk drive WILL speed up your computer.

I’ve tried several USB Flash Drives and this one is the best. I works very well to backup and restore my MacBook using Time Machine

This isn’t really a flash drive. It’s a SSD-thumb-stick. It has performance better than any usb device i’ve encountered. It is many times faster at windows installation than any other thumb drive. I boot windows 10 off it and it’s as fast as my laptop.

If I leave it plugged into a usb3.0 port and don’t do anything, it gets up to 120 F. If I copy 10 gigabytes it heats up to 150 F and just stays there as long as its plugged in, forever. Did I miss something ? Like does this really have a CREE xhp90 inside running at 20 amps or something ? Is this a feature they expect to be able to charge a premium for ? Can someone please explain this to me.

I’m using a WD_BLACK 1TB SN850 along with the Extreme Pro 128 on a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port (current fastest Type-A, however it’s being relabled). I used an 8.29 GB movie to give you an idea of the time it takes. Transferring from the flash drive to my PC took 19 seconds. Transferring from my PC to the flash drive took 47 seconds. I did both tests a few times and the numbers were the same. I generally got around 320 MB/s transferring to the PC and transfers to the flash drive started off around 330 MB/s but slowed to ~160 MB/s after 30%. The drive does have smaller space than listed (123 GB of free capacity, with mine being set to 115 GB). That doesn’t matter much to me, but I know it does to others.

Using with my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) I found the speed to be electrifyingly speedy. 4GB file wrote in just a few seconds. Gets hot, but nothing to worry about. It is blazingly fast after all…

Works as advertised. I recommend this drive. Dont need many words to say that drive is excellent. I’m glad I got this one
