moving data has never been easier with compatibility with newer laptops and older devices

There is no merit to go for USB-C style 512 GB from older USB 3 style. It sticks out more, get hotter, more pricy and same performance speed…

This little device is everything it is billed as Fast (USB 3.1), Compatible (USB A and C), and stylish (wasn’t billed as that, but it is). Drive breezes between environments (WIN, Linux) and devices (desktop, portable). I cannot think of a reason to discourage you from buying it.

This 1TB Flash Drive is awesome. It does the job and can store a whole lot of files. The price is really good too especially for the convenience. This is a ‘Must Buy’.
Garth Shanahan (verified owner) –
The drive itself is quite heavy in comparison to the competition. Yeah its a USB drive but every gram matters on a keychain. Also, the drive gets too hot to touch, even if you aren’t doing anything with it, just having it plugged in. Never had a USB drive get this hot. And I ordered two with this order, both are the same way.

Not very bright, but compact

The thing is fast, feels virtually indestructible, and small. Works on both USB and USB-C. It’s just want the doctor ordered for our work with both types of computers at the moment.
Frederik Thompson (verified owner) –
Very flexible and sturdy flash drive that can be used for backing up important files on your computer.
Brock Ullrich (verified owner) –
Excellent product as always, from Western digital. This is finally a very compact USB-C drive for the new USB standard. Though not as “micro” as the USB-A drivers were, it’s a start!

The dual USB interface helps a lot when transferring content between computers with different versions of USB
Lorine Lemke (verified owner) –
Does the job. It does get very hot to the touch for some reason.

Will be using these in May for a trip to Botswana. They will be store images from the trip – probably a third backset up and may be used for overflow. I’ve read comments about the flash drives getting extremely hot. I will be monitoring that…and may shorten downloads to keep drives from getting too hot.

it’s great.

I was reluctant to get one of these because I was familiar with the cheap flipping USB drives that you get as freebies in various places. This is made completely differently. The whole drive is made from metal. The body is made of metal, and the loop is made from metal. It’s quite solid feeling. It also helps to dissipate heat for more stable performance. The loop clicks into position solidly with four ball bearing detents, two on the top and two on the bottom. With these you never have to worry whether your friend has USB-A or USB-C ports. One drive works for everything. I’ve used it with my iPhone (with an adapter), with iPads, a Linux computer, a Mac, and a Chromebook, and it worked very well with all of them.

The storage rotates. Looked down one day and entire piece was missing. Fell out. Disappointing.
Nickolas Jaskolski (verified owner) –
Wonderful loading and usage, runs a bit hot though
Shana Gleason (verified owner) –
Good capacity and price, but slower than expected

The positives are that this drive is solidly built, with fast file transfers. The negatives are that no matter which way you rotate the 2 plugs, one of them is going to be exposed. The other negative is that you’ll notice the weight difference between this drive and others with plastic bodies; even more so if you’re carrying a bunch of these in your bag. Overall though, I’m for rugged build and fast file transfers. That’s why the 5 stars.

This all metal drive can be used on an USB A and B. Keeps those adapters out of the loop. Cools by convection and gets a little warm to the touch; not a problem…

I made a bootable backup disc for Mojave. Easy, fast, and it worked.
