The SSD Plus SATA III 2.5″ Internal SSD from SanDisk quickly delivers 480GB of storage capacity for your notebook or desktop. The SSD provides sequential reads of up to 535 MB/s and sequential writes of up to 445 MB/s to offer faster boot times and faster access to your data than a traditional spinning hard drive. It is compatible with systems sporting a SATA III interface and an available 2.5″ / 7mm drive bay.
SanDisk has included a SanDisk SSD Dashboard app that helps you maintain the drive’s performance by offering tools for analyzing the drive and listing S.M.A.R.T. attributes. To enable burst write performance, SLC caching is also offered. Moreover, cloning software is provided to help you quickly set up this drive.

I replaced a slow hard drive inside a nettop computer hoping this will give the most boost in performance and I was correct. I am running Linux on that machine, and usually it’s the loading time very long, not the execution time on this computer. After replacement, the response is similiar to more powerful machines I have and better than a laptop with much higher hardware spec. This drive is light and plastic, so no worry about short circuit when putting it inside a computer.

perfect speed for price

Nothing too much to say other than it’s great does what says it will do. Not the fastest in terms of write times but average users will never know it

I had a tower machine with a 256gb SSD that I upgraded to this SanDisk 1TB SSD. I plugged the SanDisk SSD into a NewerTech Voyager dock and cloned the 256GB drive to the 1TB drive with Acronis True Image. Then I turned off the tower and swapped the SSDs. Piece of cake!

It is much better than a regular hard drive

Laptop boots in ten seconds. Breathes performance in an old laptop. Well worth the money.

I use this to pull images off my CF cards for photo import, and editing before moving to mass storage. Used as an intermediate phase, it has saved me many many hours of time, vs importing and editing on a traditional 7200rpm drive.

I have used Spinning hard drives in the past but the cost of SSDs have been dropping enough that I can afford to start start replacing them with a more rugged drive.

This drive is much faster than the old hard drive in my laptop. The computer boots faster and there is less delay when I launch a new program. Well worth the money. I would have given the SSD 5 stars except that I had a problem with the installation, and SanDisks support was not able to help. The cloning software, which was included with the SSD, was unable to clone from the C: drive (a hard drive) that was set up in a Raid 0 configuration. (Basically, that allows the computer to cache data coming off the drive so the net result is faster reading.) Fortunately, I have been making image backups of my C: drive. To get the SSD drive to work, I had to physically install the drive, then using the recovery USB flash device, restore everything to the new SSD. The installation software (a special version from Acronis) does not allow the user to back up and restore the way I did with another 3rd party program. The drive works great now, but there was no information about how to solve my problem in any of the SanDisk literature, and their support tech did not know what to do.

A while ago, I put a smaller SanDisk in an old computer, which decreased its boot time from something like several minutes down to 30 sec or so. I bought the disk at the time assuming it was just OK but good enough, but it turned out to work as well as higher priced brands I’d been using in another computer. When the SanDisk 1TB drive was offered for the reduced price, I had no qualms about snapping one up. Testing with HD Tach shows the SanDisk’speed to be comparable. I am using it as a back-up drive, and it has reduced time for a backup from a couple hours with a spinning platter drive down to about 30 minutes.

I replaced a 250gb hard drive in an old 2760P running 64-bit Windows 10 Pro. The drive was cloned using Paragon HD 15 and secured using Bitlocker. The old 2760P is humming along nicely now. Sandisk has software that you can download to trim the disk and keep track of wear, etc. Great price and fast delivery from my favorite online store, B&H!!!!!!

Drive is a lot faster than my previous HD and excellent price.

Using it for video editing, and it has covered everything I’ve thrown at it. My computer is a bit older (2013 MacPro – trashcan), and sometimes slows a bit, but that seems to be the computer and not this drive. So far, it’s been great.
