We’re encouraged by the continued exemplary quality of SanDisk Products. They are many other alternatives to this product. However, when we don’t have the time to do comparative testing, we believe weI can rely on SanDisk to deliver the service we require for successful completion of our projects.

This drive is as portable as my other cards. And super fast read/write speeds.
Chris Schroeder (verified owner) –
The SanDisk 2TB Extreme Portable SSD is blazing fast and has sped up my import, editing, export, and upload process. The cards are copied within a few minutes and then ready to review in Lightroom or Capture One.

Using this drive for FCPX. Fast, Handy, and portable though product becomes a little bit warmer after sometime.

Bought this because I needed faster speed for importing and exporting. It takes twice as long for my data to move back and forth now…and after reading the other user’s reviews, I’m horrified of it failing shortly. Absolutely a waste of money, just get a hard drive!

I’m slowly changing over all my HDD’s to this particular SSD. For price and performance you can’t beat it. My only tip is to look out for sales, which are frequent.

Works great with a Mac and PC. Very happy with the drive.

Does what it says on the tin, no notes.

I LOVE this little thing. It is the perfect partner for Lightroom. If you’ve only used HDDs, and are skeptical about switching to an SSD, just get it. I run Lightroom off of this 100%. Catalog, photos, everything. It is incredibly fast for my needs as an enthusiast. I also use Carbon Copy Cloner, and the time it saves me in syncing two SSDs more than justifies the cost for me. I’ll never use hard disks again.

Better than paying Apple prices for additional internal storage on IPad or MacBook

This product is awesome. It is tiny for a device that holds 2 trillion bytes (2TB) of data that can be read and written at a billion bytes (1GB) per second. I recently purchased a new iPad Pro 11 inch which has a Thunderbolt/USB 4 connector so this thing runs like a bat out of hell when I plug it into the iPad. I have about 15,000 images on the SSD and when I browse them it’s just like having them on my iMac-they pop up almost in realtime. I can”t complain and have to give it the full 5 star treatment.

This SanDisk, SS portable drive is great to have in the field or on trips to back up your Photos’s and files. It is very fast and extremely convenient and reliable. I use these drives as backups in my home and especially when traveling. I then transfer the files to my main drive and later to a backup drive. Very fast even for very large files of all types. Lightweight to carry and very safe. I always backup twice. I carry two of these drives when traveling. These drives are excellent

Easy to set up on PC – just plug it into USB and it is ready to store files. Arrived as predicted. Small. Portable.

On my 2020 Mac Pro plugged into the Thunderbolt port it is clocking in at around 970 Mbps. A lot slower on my 2020 iPad Pro but that is to be expected. But I have noticed it prefers the included short cable. Any of my extension cables or other USB C cables either are slow or unable to connect the drive with the other device. This thing is small, great capacity and feels solid. Mac users will need to reformat the drive, no big deal! I originally formatted it ExFat but seen where APFS could give a faster R/W speed so I reformatted it to that. Mine is the 2TB Version 2 drive.

Love everything about it. The look, the size, the speed, the set up. Good value for money compared to others of it’s kind.
Eli Bernier (verified owner) –
Very compact and good speed. Runs a lot warmer than I expected even when just sitting idle.
Kaia Quitzon (verified owner) –
Very fast and huge storage. Used with Mac Pro m1. Final Cut film cutting. Impressed with speed storage size and stability.
Idell Conroy (verified owner) –
For storage devices, very rarely the actual speed matches spec. For this one though, it gets pretty close.

Pro tool for the job.

We went through several other name brand drives to find one that would copy several terabytes of data. Most drives would slow down to a crawl after about a terabyte, but not SanDisk. We have probably 10 of these drives and they work every time.
