I’ve had Version 1 of this drive and used it for a couple of years. It works fast and flawlessly. I use it to edit my videos in 4K. i own 4 of these. Usually when I have finished a project, I transfer the files from this drive to a regular Sata 2 drive for storage. i never tested their waterproof or shockproof capabilities (would not on purpose). This disk is highly recommended. The prices had been multiplied by 3 lately but fortunately, i took advantage of a BH photo promotion to buy a couple at their original price.

I just bought this V2 and it is blazing fast. I also have V1 which I bought about two years ago and never had a single issue. Always immediately connects to my Macbook Pro and even that version was already very fast. I would buy again and am just hoping for prices to go down on the larger capacity versions. I would feel comfortable buying a Mac with small drive and just use this as a 4TB version as the permanently connected drive.

Love this drive! Most reviews I see on these types of drives is all about transfer rates, backups and archiving. This drive is a beast and I use it for everyday Photoshop task with my 2019 MacBook Pro. It keeps up with the internal SSD hard drive and everything I throw at between 500mb-3GB Photoshop files it doesn’t even break a sweat. I have the 2TB before and it performs just as good but it was starting to fill up with large files so it was time to upgrade. SanDisk is the only one making 4TB USB C SSD drives and the speeds are on par as advertised getting 950MB Reads, 900MB writes respectively. Well worth the purchase and delivery was amazing. Western Digital must have known I needed this drive urgently because it was delivered the next day just in time as my 2TB was running to the end. Thanks guys for a great product and delivery.

I purchased this to be used as my data drive on my IMAC. This way I have no user data on my internal SSD Dive. It is extremely fast, I do not notice any loss of speed from when my user data was on my internal SSD. Time Machine backs up my user data the same way it did on my internal drive. I use my MAC for my Photograph processing, which requires a lot resources and this drive works great with it. Also, in Oklahoma we sometimes have tornados, grass fires, etc. and it is so easy to just put it in your pocket if you are forced to leave.

I recently bought a Sandisk 4TB SSD external drive from B&H and would highly recommend it to anyone who’s in the market for a high-capacity, fast and reasonably priced approach to storage and backup. (I’m a freelance photographer and need a fail-safe way of preserving my work.) For years I’ve bought almost all of my photo materials and equipment from B&H and have never been disappointed.

Wow, I am pleasantly surprised. I wanted a hard disk to backup my two 1tb laptops that are about half full. I have had SanDisk products in the past so I thought I would give this SSD a try. Dang, this thing is fast. It can back up 500gb in almost no time and the ongoing backups takes only minutes. I have two older laptops that I use a typical rotational disk so I am thinking about getting the 1tb SSD version for the older Macs. If you order, note the speed difference between the Pro version and the regular version.
