what I particularly appreciated was other than the password, no other security feature such as encryption was involved. This was very important to me because this Hard Drive is a backup to my desktop so security is not critical.

I use this as my primary backup and cloud storage as a second. The speed and convenience of the San Disk Extreme Portable SSD V2 is unbelievable! I couldn’t be happier with the performance of this SSD and would highly recommend!

Every time I used the SanDisk 2TB Extreme Portable SSD V2, it would become extremely hot. Then, after awhile, it began ejecting itself. A message would pop up that said the Disk was not ejected properly. Contacted the company and fought with them to replace it. Note says it may be replaced with refurbished. Really? A lot of money to spend for a defective product to be replaced with a repaired product. Not using SanDisk anymore. Not a happy customer.

Over the years I’ve saved my large file on external drives. When full I had to add a new external drive. I needed a very large (i.e. 4 TB) SSD to consolidate my LR photo catalog. With a very fast I/O this does the trick. At home it is connected to my desk top and on the road to my laptop. I can work on my pictures everywhere I go. Perfect for what I needed.

One can never have enough back up devices for the photos. I have altogether 4 back-up devices. Sundisk external devices are my choice for its superiors quality.

I just started using this. It seems fine.

Bought this for daily backups of my laptop’s disk. Love the small form factor and the speed. The light weight allows me to just let it dangle off the USB cable while plugged in. I have a pro version, too, with a metal body that does get hot. Thus, if heat generated is similar, and the pro dissipates heat better, this ones heat still has to go somewhere … So, I expected some heat issues. However, none so far (not even throttling AFAICT).

Very fast SSD and very sturdy. At the same time small, which is great for travel. Nothing else to say really. Just great SSD. Decided to by this one, instead Samsung T7, same speed, but better in harsh weather and during travel. So, nice value overall.

The product works well and I am using as my back up while changing laptops. Delivery and communication during the purchase process was great.

I really like the compact size of this drive and it feels well built. It runs smoothly for video editing UHD 4K footage a Macbook Pro. I’ve used it on my 16-inch Macbook Pro with satisfactory results. This drive definitely runs smoother and faster than other HDD drives I’ve used before. I did notice some a little bit of lag while editing a UHD 4K video project. However it didn’t slow down the work like some other drives I’ve used have. My biggest complaint is that this drive does heat up quite a bit while being used. I imagine this is less of an issue if you are not doing any intensive video editing.

It’s insane how small this thing is for 4 TB. Winning.

It was time to retire my old backup drives that had spinning hard disks and took half a way to back up my computer. This one takes only 15min, and fits in your shirt pocket. Only small issue is that it runs quite hot while backing up.
