I purchased this drive for field backups of photos on SD and CF cards. It is small and light weight, It is essentially a 1/4 thick business card. You wouldn’t even know that it is in your pocket. If you are using this on a thunderbolt port, you will get speeds approaching 1000mbps. Makes easy work of backing up photos. It has a rugged case.

2TB in such a small package is incredible. While I haven’t measured it, it seems quite fast, especially if copying from another SSD drive. If you’re using the drive on a Mac and using a backup program (like SuperDuper), it won’t recognize the drive until you reformat the drive using Apple’s Disk Utility. You need to do that BEFORE you copy data to the drive because reformatting will erase everything. However, if you need the files available for PC use as well, do not reformat the drive. But you’ll have to copy files, not backup files in this case.

SanDisk is a name you can trust for a quality and reliable product. Installation was quick and easy. You have the option of creating a passcode to lock your device but if you lose your passcode, there is no retrieval process. Transferring files between devices is a breeze. It does get a little toasty but not extremely hot. The size and build is perfect for travels and on the go. It’s great to have extra storage when you need it. Highly recommended this product.

I’m a longtime user of SanDisk portable SSD’s, and love these drives. They’re fast, compact, rugged, and reliable. I have a few I use to shuttle media to/from clients and vendors, and love the transfer speeds vs. the cheaper spinning disk drives. I also use them to edit on from time to time while traveling, and haven’t had any performance issues to date. Definitely worth the cost.
